  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What’s with all the new “used” red ones I’m seeing for sale everywhere?

Not sure what the issue is exactly but having some trouble getting the Connected Services activated in the car on the infotainment.
It tries to connect and update itself but it just sits there spinning for like 7 or 8 minutes then says mobile network not available or something.
Called up Genesis and they had me reset the car by starting/stopping 3 times then resetting the headunit with the little button next to volume knob. No Dice. They escalated to an engineer who's supposed to get back to me next week.

Also asked about the missing 13 months on warranty/maintenance/connected services, and again they're super accommodating and say its not a problem. They already have the documents from my my original case so they'll just update the "Date of First Purchase" in their system to a few weeks ago and everything is all good. The connected services subscription takes an extra step I'm told because its beyond 3 months so it just needs a supervisor approval or something. They said its in the notes and when I hear from the engineer on my case next week everything will be sorted and he'll give me more details.

Learned a bit about the "Dynamic" edition on the window sticker versus the "Sport" model dealer told me it was. Basically exactly the same just with different tires, brake pads and some taillight accent I guess...

All in all there's a few extra hoops to jump through and phone calls to make to get everything straightened out, but honestly it's gone super smoothly so far. Not a big deal at all considering I had none of these perks when I drove off the lot. I'm only at 550 miles so far and long term reliability is still a question mark but going from the preowned warranty I had back to the new one is a huge relief.

The cherry on top is the car drives a treat and looks great as well. The red has grown on me a lot and has gotten more than a couple compliments. Definitely recommended while the opportunity still exists!

If you google 2019 Genesis g70 you can actually pull it up still.

2019 Genesis G70
It's hard to tell with that configurator on my phone, but it looks like the 19's come in the Elite.

So have you looked at them?

I just got a reply from Genesis. They are changing the records on my car from "pre-owned" to "new" and honoring all warranties from date of first use! Thanks to all who have shared their experience on this matter in this thread.

Hi...so, I'm working on the same thing. Did Genesis ask you for the following?:

- Original Vehicle Purchase Agreement or Bill of Sale

- Certificate of Title or Application for Certificate of Title

- Odometer Statement from time of purchase

I don't know, and my dealer isn't helping, how to get the Certificate of Title or Application. Isn't that a bank thing until I pay my loan off?

Yep, I scored a "dynamic" with the soon to be useless (In the NE) summer performance tires + fix-a-flat kit.
Got jipped on the "bespoke key cover" tho, whatever that is haha.
That's great! You're lucky - the better brake pads on that specific model should save you from the problem of nasty brake vibration, due to pad deposits during heavy braking, that so many of us have had to deal with (and ultimately spend our own money on better pads). Enjoy!

Yes. They requested these docs. The Certificate of Title or Application for Certificate of Title is the application for your tags or if you have your tags, it would be your state car registration document showing your tag number.

The marketing around the Dynamic Edition mentioned "upgraded thermal capacity". I don't think we ever figured out exactly what that was.

Yup: "The latter (Dynamic) builds upon the 3.3T Sport trim and adds ultra-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires, performance brake pads, unique electronically controled suspension tuning, upgraded thermal capacity, and a tire mobility kit for reduced weight."

Ability of brakes to handle more heat?

That's an easy one. Its like regular thermal capacity but better.
Glad I could help resolve this technical question. .

Saw the article regarding the red "used" G70s on another website, found one at a local dealer, went to test drive it and LOVED IT! Amazing car! 2.0T fully loaded, less than 500mi - got it for 25% off the invoice: $35K! Unbelievable deal and it came with all the warranties and Genesis Experience like a new car - these had to be negotiated, they weren't there automatically

The only paint issue seems to be a blemish on the dark chrome window trim on the driver's side - not really noticeable, especially on a dirty car. The quality of the interior and appointments is just stunning, so much better than BMW/Audi/Mercedes and at almost half the cost! The more I drive this car, the more I like it!

Congrats and welcome!

My Red G70 was also purchased "used" with 200 miles on it. My specific car had paint issues because the delivery driver had the cars on the truck to close so they "rubbed" in front or back. Mine had very minor paint scratches on the back which the dealer fixed and the car looks good. Title is clear no accident or damage. Mine was MSRP for $41k I purchased it for $31k. I have full certified used package and all the additional add on's. The dealership I worked with were awesome and worked to get what I feel is a great deal. "Used with 200 miles". :ROFLMAO:

I also got all the Genesis experience goodies and SXM.

I got a 2019 Havana Red 3.3T Dynamic Edition RWD with 86 miles on the odo for $35,800 about 2 months ago (May 2020). I have all the remaining warranties (no concierge) I've gone over the entire car and no paint issues that I can see, but did have what appeared to be dried up adhesive on the chrome trim around the windows on both sides. I was able to remove it.
I bought the exact same car 3 weeks ago and love it. Mine also has the adhesive on the chrome trim around the windows. What did you use to get it off? I tried Goo Gone and a microfiber towel, but it didn't work so well on the section I tried to remove it from.

^ dang, that red is sweet - even though i've never been much of a fan of red cars. so much pop, and i bet it would be fun to do a full detail to see the before and after which would be really impressive. these vibrant pigment colours love a good polish!

i also really like the Mazda red i've seen on the 3/6/CX5's around town.

here's a question - when was the last time anyone saw a red or red-ish A5/S5/A4/S4, 3 series, or C-Class? anyone, Beuller? thought not. hard to remember anything but silver, grey, white or black for those cars - maybe some blues with the BMW's, but not many. i live near dealers for those 3 brands and it is usually a whitewash on their display lot.

I have Himalayan Gray and according to the light and surface plane it is silver, charcoal and gray. I say that it is most of the color palette at an Audi dealer in one car.

I too, do not much care for red. However, this red is deep when in the shadows and has a crazy metallic flake/shine in sunlight. I personally have never seen a red like this.
