  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

Today I pulled my 40A VDC/ECS fuses to prevent my 2015 Genesis from possible catching fire due to the upcoming ABS module recall related to the currently installed fuses allowing too much current to buildup before blowing which overheats the ABS module and possible cause a fire in the car; even when the car is shutoff.

Hyundai is supposed to install lower rated fuses to prevent the overheating issue if the ABS module fails.

I'm also interested to know
I used Rustoleum vinyl spray paint from Walmart and a clearcoat sealer. Iv had zero issues with the sensors. U could also tint it if u wanted to.

Is this a good idea? What am I losing when I pull the fuses? Only ABS?

Made an appointment to have the old mismatched and illegal tint removed from a 2015 5.0.
Going with Pinnacle all around and Air 90 on the front windshield and sunroof.
Will also have a small 8” sub added for a bit of the bass that I miss compared to my 2013 Equus.

After that is completed, I have an appointment to have the car detailed inside and out. Clay bar, paint correction, ceramic coat, the whole nine yards.

I would not drive the car without the fuses in place.

I believe that you will lose ABS, traction control, EBD, etc. Therefore, I always put my fuses back when I drive the car until I figure out the new fuse size.

I only pull the ABS fuses when my car is parked in my garage so that I can sleep better at night.:)

nice. which leds did you use? did you change the sockets as well?

So I finally figured out what I wanted to do with my wheels. As much as I liked some of the aftermarket ones, I still preferred the stock rims. So I took her in and got her shoes fixed and powder coated. A little darker than I expected, but I actually love the look. In the sun, they look like black chrome. 20210409_093735.webp20210409_093748.webp20210409_093801.webp20210409_093810.webp20210409_093824.webp20210409_093836.webp20210409_093847.webp

Yes had to install a few parts to work like stock. I installed VLED V6Triton HDRL controller, 12V Delay Relay Shield NE555 Timer Switch Adjustable Module, Type 2 White/Amber 1157 Turn / DRL Switchback Led Bulb. The delay relay board is needed for the pulse voltage that is used on 2015 G2 DRL. I also added a inline load resistor to make it compatible with any 1157 LED bulb. Parts total cost $75.

Today I tested my car battery with my new battery tester that also load test the battery. Device work perfectly, however it gave me some bad news about my 6 year stock battery. It holds the proper voltage just fine, but it only can make about 330 CCA which is less than half the 900CCA rating when new.

So I will just buy an Diehard H9 AGM battery from Advance Auto since they now own the former SEARS battery brand.

Note: The engine still starts like nothing is wrong so I would never have known my battery was on its last legs if I did not test it. Probably will die in the summer at the worst time if I do not replace it.

Interesting!!!! I never knew we had an plug and play remote start kit available!!! I have found my new mod to install!!!

Thank you!!!

Seem easy to install as well. I am sold!!!

Yep it was fairly easy little tougher for me because im a big guy with big arms and hands lol. Just make sure the switches on the front of the module are in the correct sequence. And an added plus is the doors automatically lock when u walk away from the car and unlock when u get to the car

Big day today. I replaced my original battery for a Diehard H9 AGM 950A battery from Advance Auto Parts and got some new Yokohama ADVAN A/S+ tires from Discount Tires.

The ADVAN A/S+ tires actually seem to handle pretty good so far, so they may not give noticeably lesser performance than my old Falken FK510 summer tires. However, my old Falken FK510 tires was worn down so I probably got used the reduced performance which makes any new set of tires seem good.

The new tires.

My old battery may have been still good since the the tester do not read the load well from the front battery post under the hood. The new battery also failed the load test when checking the battery from the front battery posts with the same 330 or so amps as my old battery.

However, the new battery checks out fine when I connect the tester directly to the battery in the trunk. Oh well, I probably still needed a new battery anyway due to the age. Too late now; even though I could have used the extra money to upgrade to some Michelin tires today. So do not load test your battery from the front battery posts under the hood since the reading will be incorrect.

My new Diehard H9 AGM battery.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that new battery set you back? Don't know how old mine is, but I better start planning now. 😕

If the original, easy to figure and you are pushing your luck. . If no, many batteries have a tag where you pop out the month and year installed

Yeah, I know. I bought the car used so I'm not sure if it's the original battery or not. I haven't checked, but it was just in for service recently and the battery checked out fine. I'm just curious how much he paid, for future reference. I'm seeing the battery for about $250.
