2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

According to Hyundai the 2012 US sales for the Genesis Sedan was approximately 33,973 vehicles....they do not break down how many 3.8's vs. 5.0's were sold.
In the past, Hyundai did not break down Sedans vs Coupes in their sales numbers. Are you sure that number is only for Sedans?

Wow, I love it! I'm glad that they released these as I was a bit worried from the first two spy pictures.

I'm wondering the same! I doubt it's sedans only...if putting together with the coupe would make more sense to me~

and btw...i like the new look! might attract more young people :)

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Wow front end and rear end are just not in proportion. Looks silly to me.

Not to mention that the rear end looks like a Sonata. Front end looks like a Ford Focus.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I like the look but as was just mentioned the proportions between front and rear look off to me??
Perhaps its the photos and maybe color.

In fairness it does seem to have a German design theme to it and if the R-spec impresses me, I'll be trading in my coupe for one...:

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I can pretty clearly make out a "380" on this model, presumably the 3.8L V6 carryover. I'm wondering if the smaller text below it is HTrac. If it is, then the system is impressively rear-biased (or selectable) as evidenced by the wheelspin/oversteer in one of the pictures.

I think it looks good overall, but I would definitely appreciate a slightly more aggressive look for the 5.0. (Different wheels, larger openings on the lower front fascia without the continuous narrow part, maybe quad exhaust, etc.)

This, I don't get. The back end I would concede a minor family resemblance to the Sonata. I'm at a loss for the front looking like a Focus. I recognize people all over this forum and others are saying Ford, but I just don't see any part of a Fusion, let alone a Focus.

I think the new fusion looks pretty good, and I think the new Genesis does too, I'm not bashing either one. Other than a relatively large grill I don't see anything in common.

Sorry, I meant it looks like a Fusion.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

A little bit Audi A8 in the front and a little bit of Lexus LS460 in the rear. I do think it looks better than the 2013 Ls460. The U. S. version may have a different treatment around the rear license plate area since our plates are smaller.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

The only Lexus 460 (2013) I've seen was stunning in appearance. Just different strokes for different folks. :)

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Front grille and front by the hood line looks weird to me.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

already contemplating removing the Genesis badges front and back...and the one's in the wheels look a little pathetic too.

The front brake caliper is grey and ugly painted if at all ala GS460 (older model anyway).

I'm gonna buy it...but I don't know if I'm gonna like it...will have to wait and see.

But I'll probably still buy it for the AWD...sad.

Those pics are of the Korean version. I assume the USA version will have a Hyundai badge on rear, and probably no badge on front (like 2009-2013).

Maybe the R-Spec has different color calipers.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Seriously, I don't see how anyone can this looks like a Fusion. They look nothing alike IMO. Anyway, this looks awesome! I was kind kf worried about the taillights, but they actually look pretty good. I'm gkad I waited to see this revealed before buying a Genny. I'll definitely check it out when it hits dealerships.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Wow they've really cheapened the look of the Genesis. Sad sad sad.

Back-end looks like an elantra, not even up to a sonata. Not a single piece of chrome on that spy shot of the Genny backside. Front is totally Ford fusion.

Honda did the same damn thing to the Accord a few years ago, and Toyota did it in the most recent model. WTF is Hyundai design thinking. This body design is really cheap.

I think I'll buy one and rebadge to a Ford, then post it on ThinkTank just to piss them off.

The slats in the front grill. The Fusion has a somewhat different shape grill, but about the same size.

Yeah me neither. Looks nothing alike. Even if the grill bars are the same look, still no resemblance. Fusions are not good looking. I am loving this re-design and look forward to seeing it at Detroit Auto Show

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

"Big mouths" are definitely in fashion.
I wonder if the final version will not sport a different front grille.
It would be easy to change it just in the delivery time.
Overall I like the car VERY much. As many, have an issue with the grille.

While the redesigned 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan is just around the corner, the rear-drive sedan gets new features for the 2014 model year, including updates to the Blue Link telematics system. EPA-rated mileage for the 2014 Genesis sedan, however, drops with the V-6 and V-8 engines.

Hyundai Genesis 3.8 models ride on now-standard 18-inch alloy wheels and use a revised power steering system that's said to be more efficient and deliver enhanced feel. Go for the 429-hp Genesis 5.0 R-Spec model and, for 2014, you'll get a heated steering wheel.
Although powertrains haven't been significantly changed, both engines have a lower EPA-rating for 2014. The 3.8-liter V-6 is down one mpg highway for an 18/27 mpg city/highway rating, while the 5.0-liter V-8 is now rated 15/23 mpg versus 16/25 mpg for the 2013 model.
