  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Owners: What vehicle did your Genesis replace?

I just turned-in my 2011 4.6 Tech for a 2014 R-Spec.

Quite a big difference in ride quality, creature comforts and power.

I was very aggressively trying for a 2015 5.0 Ultimate or even a 3.8 Ultimate, but the huge price increase in these cars and better overall deal put me into the R-Spec. Not complaining, just realizing this could be my last new Genesis with their pricing changes...

Replaced my Volkswagen Phaeton W12

Phaeton is one of my favorite cars but it must have a horror show when it came repair or maintenance time.

^I see at least one or two everyday DT Mpls. LOVE THEM!

My 2013 Genesis 3.8 Premium replaced a 2011 Sonata 2.0T SE. The Sonata turbo was a fun car, but I'm enjoying the Genesis so much more. Fuel economy is not all that different either, which is a great plus.

2013 370Z for a 2013 R-spec, first Hyundai. Loved the Z, (4th Z), but we are getting older and wanted something more comfortable. I feel we hit the jackpot with luxury and power. Trying to carry on a conversation or listen to music in the Z was quite a challenge. Secondary roads in Texas are resurfaced with first, a layer of tar, then gravel on top of that. That makes for a lot of cabin noise in a Z. Miss the handling of the Z, but the Genny was an excellent replacement. Almost had it for 3 weeks and not one bit of regret.

New to the site.

Added: 2013 Genesis Sedan Premium 3.8L black / black
Removed: 2006 Sonata GLS 3.3L (bought new) white / gray

Repeat (new) Hyundai owner and only bought two new cars in my life of owning more than 10 vehicles.

I traded in my 2005 Camry SE for V6 Tech, great car and great ride. The only complaint that I have is the cup holders....it's too narrow and can't even hold two McDonald's large cups. Other than that I am really happy with my new car. :)

2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD Ultimate replaced a 2011 Genesis 4.6 which replaced a 2009 Genesis 3.6.

Third and favorite Genesis.

Finally pulled the trigger :)
2014 3.8 base model, replaced 2011 Infiniti G37.
I was originally going to go for either the R-spec or 3.8 Tech, then I realized that I'm not willing to pay 8-10k difference for the features that are nice, but I don't truly need. Really like the car so far!

Replaced a 2011 Jaguar XFR. It was leased and I knew within a couple months I wasn't going to keep it. I looked at the Genesis in early 2011 before i bought My jaguar, but the R-Spec hadn't been released yet. I test drove 18 months ago and knew once the lease was up on the Jag I was going to buy one. I took deliver 2 weeks ago of a Noir/Noir 2014 R-Spec, and 5 miles into it i still love the car. Only wish I had waited a few months in 2011 for this car to be released and never had the Jag. I'm down by 80 horsepower, but the difference is not really noticeable.

2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5 - AWD was great in the winter, styling was bland, hatch that was less useful than it looked (couldn't fit a bow case in the rear), rear seats were there but difficult to work with when manipulating a car seat. Genesis is everything I want in a car and it fit my price range perfectly. Couldn't be happier!

First Hyundai last month 2014 Genesis 3.8 premium parisian gray
It replace my 01 accord with 245,000 miles.
I love it

My Genesis replaced a 2010 Sonata GLS with 41K miles on it.

It's my 5th Hyundai....in order of purchase:

2006 Santa Fe
2008 Sonata
2008 Santa Fe <-- Still own...51K miles
2010 Sonata
2013 Genesis 3.8 <-- Still own...6K miles

2009 Genesis 4.6 V8 with 108000 miles. Loved that car. Never had a problem with it. Decided on a 2015 3.8 all wheel drive, Manhattan Brown with beige interior. It's fully loaded and after 4 days, I must say that I love it. Not quite as quick off the line, as the 4.6, but good enough. The convenience and safety items blow the mind. Much better than the 2009.

My 2015 Genesis 3.8 HTRAC Ultimate is replacing my 2004 Honda Accord EXL-V6. The Accord has just a bit over 205,000 miles on it and the coolest tech it came with was XM radio... No bluetooth, no Aux, no USB, no nothing. I can't wait to play with all the tech in my new Genesis.
