  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

That may be the case but I was really surprised at the US V8 Ultimate doesn't come with suede roof liner, rear heated seats and front headlight washers. Obviously this did not sway my decision on getting the V8 Ultimate and to your point about the Genesis vs. Equus differences if I wanted 'ALL' those options in one car then I should have chosen the Equus.

Still waiting for the redesigned Equus. I sure hope it knocks the socks off of the other luxury brands.

the driver's seat belt connector next to the console is too low and is not easy to clip. Also because it is low, you rub the side of your hand on the side of the console and doing that repeatedly cause a mild abrasion. Don't know if an extension is available or not.

I have that same issue... but maybe if I were a bit narrower it would be easier! 😉 I've seen some non OEM extenders and thought about trying one at about $7...

It might be worth the effort to check other cars at the dealer - no problem clipping mine - maybe your cars seal belt buckle is just positioned too low? Don't know if that can happen, but it sounds a little unusual. Good luck. :)

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Smart Cruise Control issues. I like the system but had a couple of issues this past week that I don't like about it. When leaving a red light under a 3 second stop, the acceleration is not fast enough and those behind you get impatient. I now just hit the gas until up to speed.

The other thing I noticed is when someone coming in the other direction that makes a U-turn and gets into another lane (not the lane I am driving in) the system still brakes. It doesn't brake as the car passes in front but after the car is pointed in the same direct as you are in the other lane.

The car is a few hundred yards ahead of me so it is not like they cut right in front of me. It is almost like a delayed reaction. It has happened twice now.

I think that's really sad that Hyundai doesn't offer a V8 AWD option in the United States but it is available in Canada. What happened to heated rear view mirrors that's available on the 1st generation Genesis? The United States gets ankle deep snow and a AWD option would be a great benefit for the V8 model. Not to mention the heated mirrors. I'm going to wait for the AWDV8 with heated mirrors.

Three words: Gas Guzzler Tax.

I think is has more to do with CAFE than GG tax. If they threw the V8 into the USA lineup, it would damage the Hyundai CAFE average and could have major economic impact on them. Lowering their fuel consumption average is frowned upon by all the tree huggers and government which equates to less $. CAFE explained. http://www.moneycrashers.com/cafe-standards-fuel-efficiency-cars/

My 5.0 Ultimate has heated mirrors...

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

All Genesis models have heated mirrors in the US. I wish mine had the heated rear seats though....

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

The trailing edge of hood bouncing immediately on my drive home from the dealer, 8/2/2014. Especially at high speed. The hood is Huge and light weight (probably aluminum). I adjusted the rubber stops a little on bottom side of hood and don't notice it as much now. But the hood could use more support, structurally.

Eat some chili, sit in the rear seat, let one rip and problem solved.:D

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Here's an odd one. My 2012 G was occasionally mistaken for a Bentley. I've even had the papparazzi here in Los Angeles follow me to look inside the car to see who I am.

The 2015 G doesn't get mistaken for a Bentley.

It most certainly does. I've had people ask me if mine was a Bentley and so have several other posters here.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

It is Sade that some Hyundai owners are not proud to be Hyundai owners. We need to get over the reputation of the past. Hyundai has proven it self with quality and style. *** IT'S A GENESIS!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

The Ford Fusion type grill really rubs me the wrong way. The rear seat has less head room. The lack of heat outside mirrors, heated steering wheel and all wheel drive for the V8 model is crazy. The new genesis in many ways is a lesser of a car than the 1st generation. But more expensive.
