  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2016 Genesis News?

I don't think the deep discounts are still available for the current 2015 models

I went in to buy one last week and most of the incentives were in the lease world... so I just went for the lease. They did have zero percent financing for 60 months though... that's a pretty attractive deal.

I would not take that one for gospel until I saw the contract. Maybe that is offered by your dealer, and not a Hyundai extended warranty?

It's in the HPP.

It's in the HPP.
Lowest price I have ever seen on the HPP is about $1200 (higher on the 2015). I would not call that a "a few hundred bucks."

1200 is what I paid for mine on a CPO G2. Well worth it with the other coverages it gives - besides the electronics.

I too am waiting for the 2016 simply because I can't get an answer from HMA. I want Apple CarPlay in my vehicle and HMA will not indicate if it will be retrofit in a 2015 Ultimate when CarPlay becomes available in a Genesis. If HMA would commit to retrofitting the 2015s I would buy or lease a 2015 today. I want an AWD Ultimate in Empire State Grey with Ivory or Parisian Grey with Ivory. I am located in Connecticut. Fog light and warranty will not hold me back from getting a 2015 if I received a commitment from HMA on CarPlay.

The 2016 does not appear to be shipping with CarPlay or Android Auto either. It's really messed up that even in it's second year, it's not yet available. Meanwhile the cheaper 2015 Sonata has Android Auto, the 2016 Buick Regal has CarPlay and the 2016 Honda Accord has both CarPlay and Android Auto.

Hyundai has gone from being head of the curve with Siri Eyes Free on the 2015 Genesis to being embarrassingly behind on the 2016 Genesis! What are they thinking? Not the way to build a luxury brand or support the higher price point of the Genesis.

I think the Genesis has been locked in to the Lexicon system, so they have to wait until the vendor makes it available, or switch to a new system. A lot of people don't realize the extent to which the individual components of cars are supplied by vendors. This is especially true for low volume cars like Genesis and Equus.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Lexicon does not make the head unit nor the infotainment system/os/apps that resides on top of it. Their end - or rather HK's - is in signal processing, amplification and speakers.

The whole thing is integrated, so I wonder if that is correct.

My neighbor installed the pioneer car play unit in to his truck, after a few weeks of it, he's not impressed, says it locks up or freezes when using the navigation. Says the text stuff is nice but really doesn't use it and if he had a choice, he won't purchase it again.

It's like getting a new phone, it's really cool at first but then after a few days, you realize it's just a phone :-)

Thank you for contacting the Genesis Customer Care Center. We appreciate your inquirty about Apple applications and services for your 2015 Genesis. We are looking forward to offering the full functionality of the Apple Car Play and the Bluelink for the Apple Watch.

At present time Apple is still working on the Apple Car Play functionality. We do know there is ongoing testing at present time and we may roll that application out to a lower trim line in order to ensure full functionality of the application first. Hyundai wants to be certain that our Premium customers do not needlessly experience a loss of time or needless frustration before offering for the Premium line of Hyundai Genesis and Hyundai Equus. We are hopeful the application is rolled out shortly but we do not have a definite timeline.

When the Apple Car Play does go live expect to find the application available in your 2015 Genesis entertainment center under downloads or applications available for download.

Canned answer we've seen before - so basically no new info from Hyundai. Too bad - they are being left behind by many lesser cars - that's what they should be worried about their "Premium line of Hyundai Genesis and Equus " customers experiencing. I find it really hard to fathom that they don't manage these things to a scheduled timeline such that they can't provide a timing estimate.

... and we may roll that application out to a lower trim line in order to ensure full functionality of the application first ...

LOL! I love the way they admit to trying it out on the unwashed masses first before they bother their upper-crust type customers with it. I'll bet this answer was not approved by legal or PR before they sent it! :-)

Too bad they didn't take that approach to the XM radio. :(

I think I'll quote that response to my local service department after their 3rd "attempt" at correcting an issue with my musty smelling climate control.

I received this response from them today.

Currently Android Auto is only available on our 2015 and 2016 Model Sonata. Hyundai Motor America has provided no information regarding when Android Auto will be available on the Hyundai Genesis. However, we are currently working on other vehicles that have the same Navi system as the Sonata. These include the Genesis (Standard AVN 4.0), Veloster, Elantra GT, Sonata HEV and Azera. More models and trim levels will be added when the Display Audio system launches.

Someone from Hyundai corporate indicated to me today that they are indeed waiting on the 2015s in port to be allocated before releasing the 2016s. They expect them to be released in the first or second week of November.
