If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Pretty sure he meant the Charger, Nik... which I can't even see a little bit of influence from...

That being said - they have changed it dramatically for this coming year:

OK and agreed. Those 2 cars actually look like Ford Fusions - you know: they have large front grilles and headlights :)

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I still think I'm in the buy category overall, but I think I'm going to wait long enough for dealers to not be pushing for 100% of sticker on the V8.

My dealer told me they don't order or sell many V8s, which means that the customers who want and buy them REALLY want them, which means there's no reason to discount them.

Personally, I compared the V6 and V8 and couldn't justify the realtively small performance difference against the relatively large price difference, especially when considering the price discounts I could get on the V6 and almost none on the V8. It was a huge difference. I am super happy with the V6 performance.

I put money down on new 2015 v8 base genny, I got them to put the price down to 45,000 with 49,400 out the door. Picking it up on the 26th. What I did was call dealer to dealer till I got what I wanted. It all depends on their stock and situation.
Edit:everyone really wants a v8 but not everyone is willing to shell out 52k just for base, I know I wasn't till they gave me a good deal.

Sorry, but that's wrong - not everyone wants a V8!

Although the V8 model is a minority seller in the line up (lack of AWD?), it is discounted the same - depending on the dealer, timing and stockpile. Moving $50K+ premium sedans does not work at every Hyundai dealer. My V8 discount this summer was as strong as other V6 discounts that were being made at the time.

Correct. AWD much more important to me than a V8.

LOL I see that, you got AWD in your name. Depends on situation I guess if I was in snow belt I would probably feel the same. Even though I personally wouldn't get an AWD unless it was a subaru but that is just me.

I once had a friend who said he was a lesbian trapped in a man's body.
Oddly... it really wasn't a problem! :D

Lol yeah it could be construed that AWD is saying he might be a lesbian. Nothing wrong with being Transgender, you are stunning and brave ma'am lol

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Was considering starting a thread of shall we say the most memorable posts. Surely one of them would have to be "If I wanted an AWD I'd get a Subaru" I think it qualifies. :D

:p I do agree it was a bit strong of a statement but I still stand by it. Hyundai has not been in the AWD market long enough for me to say I'm getting one, while the subaru wrx sti, outback, ect have been doing it forever and it's proven. Not bashing hyundai just saying there are cars that are known for solid tech features like the jeep wrangler(offroad), bmw (sporty luxury), subaru (awd), 2500 ram diesel (cummins)
...if I was getting awd I personally wouldnt get it until gen 3 or at least till 2017. (I feel like AWD owners about to go ham lol)

I don't see myself personally trading in my Genesis for a Subaru any time in the future. Maybe one of you V8 guys would though.

Those Subarus drink way to much oil. In fact Subaru considers a quart every 1000 miles as acceptable. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2015/06/excessive-oil-consumption/index.htm There are several class action lawsuits open against Subaru for this very reason. Here is one. http://suburbservice.net/subaru-class-action-oil-suit

So my thinking is, if they cannot build a proper engine, how the heck can one think their AWD system is up to par.

I like how it went from AWD to engine problems. There is a reason luxury branded vehicles(benz, bmw) are rear wheel drive. it's not because it's cool or classy it makes the ride, handling, and weight balance better. I'm not trashing AWD(again) I just find that sports, muscle, and luxury cars are better with RWD and if I was going to go AWD out of necessity it would be a subaru. [Personal opinion] each his own

Lets just say in my neck of the woods BMW's with X drive an Mercedes 4-matic, easily out number their rwd optioned counterparts.
