I find that 3.3T G70 Sport to be extremely quiet inside in regards to wind noise. It does such a good job suppressing outside noise that even the Michelin PS4S are not intrusive as you would expect for a top tier ultra high performance summer tire.Could current owners comment on the following from the Jalopnik review, which I found a bit disturbing. Ie; are these observations true, and if so how does the car compare vs. the likes of BMW and Audi.
" doesn’t ride as quietly on the highway. My driving partner and I both remarked on the loudness of the wind noise as air rushed over the car while we cruised on the highway.
The ride quality, as mentioned above, is stiff. Even in Comfort mode"
and
" The G70 rides hard over bumps, too. It has five different drive modes, one of which is Sport, but there’s little difference in suspension feel between Comfort and Sport ".
Mind you, the observations relate to the Sport model with adjustable suspension, which in turn uses 35 aspect 19" rear summer tires, which would be very stiff. I'm interested more in the Dynamic which has 18" all seasons (but no adjustable suspension).
As for the suspension, I feel that the Sport mode should be the default comfort mode. There is a difference between Sport and Comfort for the suspension but it's not huge. I just wish there was a Sport + mode for spirited driving and I would leave it in normal sport for suspension as the default. This is in comparison to an Audi S3 with the 19" setup and the mag-ride. In the S3, the medium suspension setting (auto) is magnitudes stiffer than the G70 and what I used as a setting for daily....but it's quite stiff...so much so that I would avoid man-hole covers in the medium setting. I would never put the the S3 into Dynamic mode for the suspension. With the G70, you don't even feel the man-hole covers. It does real well in isolating the the impacts so it's much more luxury. At the same time, the G70 is nowhere as flat as the S3.
