Agree. Revenue generates diversification. The current G90 is EOL and maybe the G80 too. Once the new ones get introduced and popularity increases, they will delve into niche markets. Until then they will tread safely into the SUV realm!

Right near the beginning of the article comes an awesome statement...

“The 2019 Genesis G70 is a winner across the board,” said Chris Paukert, Executive Editor of Roadshow by CNET. “This isn’t a model you buy just because you’re trying to save money over rivals. You buy the G70 because it’s the better driving car.”

I highly doubt a single thing will be done until they make money...including bringing the 2 or 3 SUV’s/crossovers to market.

Aside from the engine/transmission upgrade (facelift) and maybe some fine-tuning/calibration of the steering and suspension, agree that any sort of real performance model won't happen until the next gen G70 at the earliest.

Getting a hybrid model is more crucial - not just for the European market, but increasingly the G70's domestic market.
