  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Things you love about the G70

What I love most about this car is just the look of it, even when it's just sitting in my garage. When I was shopping for a car, my final two choices were the 2019 Audi S5 or the Genesis G70. When I made my decision to go with the G70, the decision was primarily based on cost/value since a similarly specced S5 would be ~$15K more. But I thought I would be compromising on the looks department as I thought the S5 was a better looking car. I've completely changed my opinion on that score. The G70 is just beautiful, and I'm really becoming a convert to the Havana Red color (which wasn't my first choice). I don't know about anyone else, but when walking away from the car, I often find myself turning around just to get a second look at it. I haven't done that since I had my old 2008 Audi S5 (which to me was one of the most beautifully designed cars ever).

I'm with ya 100%.(y)
My final decision was between the G70 and A5 sportback. The S5 sportback would be the ideal choice, but it's far too expensive compared to the G70. That engine tho
The 3.3T awd G70 and the 2.0 awd A5 are in the same ballpark (as long as you don;t go crazy with options), which just goes to show what value you're getting with the Genny.

You definitely made the right choice going with the G70 instead of the A5. I was looking at both the S5 Coupe and the S5 Sportback, and with hindsight, I realize now that I would've been nuts to go with the Audi. The A5/S5 Sportback is a good looking car, but even the S5 had noticeable turbo lag (more so than the G70). And the steering was kind of numb. I think the only thing the Audi has over the G70 is the prestige that goes with the badge, which at the end of the day isn't that big a deal.

Still exploring features but my favorite at the moment is when I put it in sport mode, my seat bolsters give me a hug. I feel like the car's almost saying go on buddy- i got you lol.

wait..what? I haven’t felt the bolsters change in sport mode.

I love the tech in my car. It has everything. I personally love Apple car play, it so easy to use. I love all the advanced safety features and of course how it looks. Pedestrians take too long crossing the street because they are looking at my car 😍.
Oh, I forgot the quilted nappa leather and the illuminated Genesis logo that shines on the ground. That could be my favorite feature! So classy.
Wait, one more thing, I love some of the little thoughtful details like the ability to slide the passenger seat forward or backwards right from the control that are easily accessible for the driver, and the illuminated trunk control. I can’t tell you how many times, in other cars I searched and searched for the trunk open button in the dark because car companies never think to illuminate it.

There is a setting you need to check on. Mine was not doing that originally so I poked around the convenance features until I found the right label for seat in sport mode and checked it on. Fixed my issue on my 3.3 sport.

Only if there are a bunch of gas stations along the way though...:ROFLMAO:
Mileage is Excellent for a car of this power and size. Your comment was out of line, someone could read that and actually believe you knew what you were talking about, and every other owner knows you don't. This crap is unnecessary. My car will easily, and has, exceeded 400 miles between fill-ups and no one can go that far without a bathroom break anyway.

Is yours a 2.0? I've never come close to 400 miles on a full tank with my 3.3T, in any kind of driving. In mixed driving, even if I keep it in comfort mode, I only get about 270 miles.
In any case, if you could believe the computer's mpg readout, I would say that the mileage is pretty darned good given the weight and power. But considering that the mpg readout is about 10% high, I consider it to be just average at best.

I would agree that the G70 3.3T is average at best in terms of fuel economy, and if I'm being totally honest, more likely below average. Don't get me wrong, I love my G70 but gas mileage is disappointing. My last car was a 2014 Audi S5 and I feel like that car got better gas mileage, even considering it was a supercharged V6 and from 2014. When I was deciding between the G70 or getting a new 2019 Audi S5, I knew the G70 got worse gas mileage than the S5, but I didn't expect it to be so poor. For whatever reason the 3.3T is really inefficient.

^Agreed. I'd be lucky to hit 300 miles on a full tank in my 3.3 AWD for mixed city/highway driving. If it was pure freeway driving, in ECO mode, going no faster than 65mph ever, with no traffic and totally flat, and maybe even a tail wind, windows up, no AC or heated or cooled seat use....maaayyybe I could make it to 400 miles. But there's no way the road conditions would ever be that perfect. Haha.

To make things worse add the small capacity of the gas tank to the poor MPG. I read somewhere the new 3.5T will be more powerful AND more efficient than the 3.3T.

Figures...it wouldn't surprise me, after all, the technology exists to make a more efficient engine. Just look at competing cars in the same class from Audi, MB, BMW, Lexus. They all have similar power output yet are rated at better MPG. Now I've never owned any of the newer models (2018 or newer), so I don't know what mileage they get in real world conditions, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're more efficient than the 3.3T. My wife's car is a 2017 Audi SQ5 and I'm not sure, but I want to say even that gets better gas mileage than the G70. Who knows, maybe this is part of how Genesis keeps the costs low for the G70.

I constantly get compliments on the puddle lights - Even from other luxury car drivers who have em!

@CVODON : You definitely can't get 400 miles on a 3.3t with a full tank without driving like a super-miler. 350 absolute tops if you're in eco and only freeway. Also, I can definitely drive 400 miles without a break.

I drive mainly fast backroads with little traffic. In eco mode I’m getting 320ish range shown. I agree no realistic way I’m getting 400. 3.3 awd.

I don’t mind it filling up more often, but I came from a Grand Cherokee v6 that did 500 miles easy per tank. Definitely notice not being able to go a whole week without filling up.

With winter approaching I am so glad to have clearly marked defrost buttons, front and rear. My previous car had two tiny buttons next to each other and surrounded by other control buttons of the same size and radio buttons of the same size. It was impossible to determine which one was which and they were so small I could never tell if I pressed the correct one. Plus I had to take my eyes from the road to identify them which was impossible since they were so small the icons were indistinguishable.
These are clearly marked, separated for convenience and the front is under the driver ventilation control, thus for the driver windshield defrost. The other for the rear window.

Love the acceleration on the car, Test drove it today and it flies. That plus the wireless charger is amazing

Mine is a 3,3. It is 273 miles from my house to Valdosta Ga. Twice we have filled up within a mile of home and driven straight to Valdosta, Both times on ECO and at 72mph average using cruise. It took 8.81 and 8.80 gallons to fill it when we arrived, both times. That is 273/8.80 = 31.02 mpg. So if you drive 400 miles at 31 mpg then 400 miles is easy as it takes 12.9 gallons which leaves you plenty of gas in the tank.
This past week was a pretty normal week, drove 345 miles, used 14.02 gallons of 93. That is 24.6 mpg. This was mainly in town, one 85 mile interstate trip in there. That is using Smart Mode with cruise anytime I can. So I think mileage is good. I do not use the car computer to figure it, although it is very close most fill-ups. I try to only use Shell 93 but have had to buy other brands a few times but then only one such as Exon or Mobil. I, as I have said before, worked in the manuf of fuel awhile ago and I do not use cheap no name fuel, many of you do, that OK as it is your car. But for me, name brands Premium only.

So your saying Shell, Exon and Mobil do not come from the same fuel distribution depo as QT, Racetrack, Valero and the likes? I see a lot of tanker trucks in those fuel depo truck lines, some branded and some not branded trucks. Thought the base gas from the refinery was the same less additive packages that each brand seems to customize?
