Hyundai Customer Connect posting to clear up some confusion
The "Genesis Map" software that dealers currently have is part of a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and includes a Driver Information System (DIS) operating system update combined with 4th quarter 2008 map data. This update does not apply to all vehicles. Attempting to load this software to other vehicles may result in the loss of DIS system operation. Hyundai does not recommend trying it.
The 2010 map update shown on the M&Soft website is also 2008 4th quarter map data. It is not available for customer purchase. We have asked that sales of this software be stopped since it is also "old" map data and it has proven to be difficult for customers to install themselves, in some cases, leading to the loss of DIS system operation. You would not be happy with this software.
To improve this situation we have been working on a solution. A new map update software is currently being validated and will be released to dealers in August of this year (2010). This will be available for purchase at a competitive price through Hyundai dealerships who will be able to complete the installation. Additionally we have started a process to offer updated map data each year for all of our navigation systems. These map updates are targeted for release in the 3rd quarter of each calendar year.
