  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 genesis sedan - price paid

Congratulations!
What color did you choose?
Which rainX product you are referring to?

Platinum Metallic.

The RainX I used was the thick stuff in a small bottle for the front, back and sun roof and the liquid spray RainX for the sides (actually, no particular reason why I used two types other than comparison next time it rains).

I've heard different opinions on rainX. A lot of people like it, but also say once you start using it you have to continue using it. Otherwise the glass becomes not clear if not maintained.

I'm one of those people who used Rain-X ---- and won't use it again. Living in Seattle the stuff really does work great with any rain (light or heavy). But... after a 2-3 months the windows start to streak. So you have to apply it again and again, every few months. Maybe its like drugs... once you start using it you aren't allowed to stop!

Just curious what the use of rain x has to do with this post: Price Paid??

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If a dealer won't give you a good price on your trade, take it to a "Car Max" and get a quote from them on purchasing your car. I actually had a dealer tell me to do that when I was purchasing my F-250 and they beat the dealership by $1600. However last week when purchasing the Genesis the dealership gave me 800 more than Car Max. Go figure. The price they gave me for my TL was right at what KBB was quoting.

Quoted for truth! Go to CarMax and have their offer sheet in hand when you negotiate with the dealer. They both will be looking at Manheim and other wholesale sites to see how much your car is worth, but if CarMax has the higher price than what the dealer is offering, just whip that sheet out and let them know you can take your business elsewhere since you know your car is worth more. Usually does the trick (did for me) :)

Updated this in another post, but thought it appropriate to put it here as well. For an R-Spec, black on black with MSRP of $47,485 (which includes destination, iPod cable and trunk tray), out the door for $40,600 before tax, tag and title. That was my local Circle price - $1,500 competitive - $400 new grad (grad school). No trade in kept the haggling out of the process altogether.

Good deal on the car, but I'll be paying through the nose in insurance premiums . . . Damn the R-Spec's extra HP!

Love the car.

i didn't know the R spec would cost more than the 4.6.
did you get quotes from you agent on both?
my impression is that there is no significant difference between 3.8 v 4.6 v 5.0.

Hi All. Could use a little help. I'm military and overseas, trying to buy a Genesis over the internet and phone.

I'm looking in the Philly area for a 2012, 3.8L V6 with the Technology package (would also like an iPod cable and emblem package).

Dealer quoted me that his invoice is $41,200 which he would sell it to me at that price (no trade-in, competition coupon, etc.). He also said $450 for the emblem package. I am assuming he will tack on the TTL, but shouldn't charge anything else. What do you think? Selling at invoice sounds good to me, but I've seen a few others in this string walk out the door for a similar 2012 for under $40k.

Has anyone seen the blue color in person? Is it a bright royal blue or darker-navy? True to the Hyundai website?

Thanks all for the help! Getting excited about this car.

Geico quoted me a price based upon v8 - they did not have data in their system for an rspec. If my car would actually get here before they update their systems then I will be pleased.

Spugger-----Fitzmall in the Md. area prices the similar car you're looking for at $38,939 plus I'm guessing a $399 dealer fee, $170 for tags plus tax.

Spugger, not sure if that number is true invoice or marked up, I have a '12 w. Premium and invoice was 37K and change.

You can buy the KDM badges on Ebay for about $15, and there are instruction son this forum on how to put them on the car. My dealer wanted $389 for the badge package, which was the trunk lid badges and 4 wheel centers.......not! I also purchased a winged badge for the hood, it uses doublestick 3M foam tape to attach, works great (You do have to remove the mounting posts (used for trunk install) to install on the hood.
Good luck

invoice of 41k sounds about right.
but you can do much better than that thru Hyundai Circle pricing.
also don't forget the competitive rebate, military and recent college grad rebates.

omg, you put someone out of business with that deal lol

I am picking my car up on Sunday at from FitzMall in Clearwater.
It is a 2012 4.6 Titanium Grey w Saddle.

Price paid was $38,676 not including tax, title, registration, and $499 delivery fee. Above price includes all rebates including competitive vehicle rebate. Financed at 1.9% over 48 months from Hyundai Motors. There was $282 additional to rebadge vehicle, including front and rear, wheels, and steering wheel stick on badge.

Pricing came in about $20 less than Hyundai Circle pricing. The price paid was what was shown on their website. Transaction has been very smooth to date. Nice people, easy to work with, responsive and accommodating.

geez...all this reading on V8's make me feel ripped off on my V6..

I hope I didn't - but I was pleased with the final price! Everyone at the dealership (salesman and staff) was coming up to me asking to sit in it - it was on their lot for less than 6 hours and it wouldn't have been that long had it not been a 2+ hour drive for me to pick it up! They definitely sold it to an excited buyer.

The MSRP on the R-Spec is $2k over that of the 4.6. For the addition of GDI, more HP/torque, amazing rims (IMHO) and a modified suspension (jury's out on this) - I think it's $2k more well spent (or $2k well financed).

definitely, if you live in a decent area. for anyone living in pot hole heaven that car will be unnerving after a short time (i wouldn't own mine if i lived in an area lie that either though, i'd be driving a Caddy, lincoln or Lexus). only gripes on R-spec (i would love it more if) the wheels with the black painted spokes, no wood wheel. i love that wood steering wheel. i grip the wheel to the carpal tunnel point lol, so i like holding it by the wood so it doesn't get crappy in the summer months. should of made it an option.
