Here an update on my impressions of the new 2012 Genesis 4.6 that I bought in Virginia and drove back to Maine where I live. I'm embarrassed to say that my previous post was premature and not well thought out because I have absolutely fallen in love with this car during the past 2 days. I'm so glad that I gave it a little time before making any rash decisions. I guess I just needed some time to adjust from driving a Lincoln LS for nearly 8 years because the Genesis is certainly a very different car.
Just to be sure, I visited a bunch of different new car dealers today to compare other cars with my Genesis. I looked at Infinity M, Cadillac CTS, Mercedes E350, BMW 535i, Lexus LS and Lexus ES. I quickly came to the conclusion that there the Genesis is truly a remarkable car - particularly for the money. Certainly the Genesis is not perfect, and there are some things that I wish were different. But I cna find nothing else out there that I like better, and I have finally convinced myself that the Genesis a huge step up from my Lincoln LS.
I now love the cabernet red exterior color. In fact, I've been trying to find a color that I would like better and I can't. I still find the interior cashmere color kind of cold and washed out, but even that it starting to grow on me. I'm now looking forward to many years of enjoying my new Genesis.
