If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Thanks for the nice comments. Only 3016 Continental Mark II's (it's not a Lincoln) were hand built in the 56-57 model year. With A/C, which my unit is equipped, the price tag was slightly over $10,000 1956 dollars. While my Mark II is very good looking, let's not forgot how handsome our Genesis' are. I think the new Genesis is a fantastic looking car.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Since this thread is so long, I am not sure if this has been mentioned. I just switched from an '09 to a '16 and miss the USB, power and audio connections in the compartment under the center arm rest. Hyundai does not need to remove the existing ones (at the base of the dash), but should add the ones that were in the G1 sedans. Those connectors offered a great place to place one's phone while charging. Also, one could operate and charge things like ipods and, in my case, a portable Sirius radio modules that I transfer from car to car. The existing inputs expose a mess of wires, if used, while the old way kept that concealed.

I switched from an 2011 to a 2015 and I much prefer the new location of the USB as I find that center console practical for storage only and always wondered why they put those connections in there and subject them to the damage from other objects in there. Case in point a USB stick. As far as concealment there is a sliding door above that area to cover it. I think it’s a perfect area to lay down a cell phone for example and let it charge while in use. I find it much easier to reach for the phone there then in the center console. If insuffient space is your reason then I can understand with the door closed there’s maybe enough space for two cell phones and that‘s about it.

I just came from a 2013 Azera, which had a similar, but larger area at the front of the console. I don't mind where it is, since I don't want to put the phone inside the center console. My wife has a Dodge Journey with that setup, and the phone reception can suffer if inside the console. If the only connection was inside the console, you'd have a mess of wires running back to the front. I don't think you could have the connection duplicated to chose one or the other.

Here are some photos:

I fell in love with Lincoln 40 years ago, when my father came home one night with a 1975 Town Car, black with burgundy interior.

Black on red has always been a favorite of mine. You're car is a gem.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I mostly love this car, but the voice recognition is awful. Has anyone found a solution to this? Firmware improvement?

My 2011 Sonata and 2013 Azera were much better.
Even trying to call contacts is almost impossible. Thankfully Siri works well.

Agreed my 2011 Genesis was much better in that area and the lost ability to call up stored routes by name was a real setback.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

To add music to the Juke Box feature, it will only accept a music stored on a thumb drive, rather than rip from a CD. There is no simple way to add our CD collections. If there is a way to add a CD to the Juke Box, please advise.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

The only dislike I've come across is that I can't play audio from my phone via USB so I don't get album art or anything like that. It's surprising to me why it can't/won't do this. It just says something like "Media device is not supported" when I try to connect via USB. At least it will charge the phone so that's good.

I've just been using Bluetooth which works fine but would still like the ability to play via USB.

Anyone know what the issue is with that? I have an Android (LG G4) phone.

Anyone have any idea on this ^^^?

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I don't think Android supports a protocol that would allow this. As far as I know Android just shows the phone as a "disk drive" via USB, where the music stored on the phone will be one subdirectory of many which probably confuses the car media player.

As usual I may be wrong about this, does anyone here have any car or device that plays an android phone's music via USB? I use bluetooth and it works great.

I've never a big fan of voice recognition except for making some phone calls and setting the nav system. However, I've found that being able to use Siri is a huge bonus for me.

One feature I can complain about is having to push a button on the front door handle to unlock the car. On my Lexus I liked that you only needed to place your hand near the handle, front or rear.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

i use that Google search all the time with voice recognition. It works fine.

I think we've found the most obscure and minor complaint possible guys.

Don't get me wrong...this is the thread to post any "dislikes", but damn!

I think they meant the non-Google search voice search - that absolutely sucks!

Bingo -

Siri is fine, and the Google from the mirror button is not too bad. So far using anything from the normal VR button on the steering wheel is brain dead.

I understand the VR is not expected to be perfect, but my 2011 Sonata and 2013 Azera did much better recognizing both contacts and NAV commands.

These things are supposed to get better with newer and higher end models, not worse.

Totally agree - the Hyundai VR is pretty much worthless 99% of the time.

Yeah! How did we wound up going backwards on that? My 2007 Infiniti G35 was great with that my 2011 Genesis was very good and here we are. What a shame everything else works really good. Wonder if the 2016 has improved on it maybe we’ll get feedback from one of the new owners.

This. Last time I attempted to navigate Home VR instead placed a call to one of my contact's home #. Gave up after that.

Poor Gen 1. Kill it with fire.
Styling is subjective and IMO, that looks like poop.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I bet all the other Gens point and laugh.
