If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Why is there no way to save "send to car with google" addresses into the main contacts area? This doesn't combo well with the currently awful voice recognition.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Backup camera is way off the mark, with the steering wheel straight you can see it clearly in the following pictures. What's really odd is the top down view shows me off in the opposite direction of what the normal view tells me. I have tried it on both the 5.0 and V6 HTRAC Ultimate's with the same results, I'll let the service manager know.

Has Hyundai changed the way the backup display works? On my '11, there are three lines on the screen - green, yellow, and red - representing decreasing distances to the rear bumper. Also, from your pics, the top view looks more like what I'm used to, while the normal view appears to be straight down. My car only has one view.

BTW, I was disappointed when I read that the surround view with side and front cameras on the KDM '15 Genesis wouldn't be available in the U.S. I suspect it'll stay that way because of the price difference, but it's a feature I'd love to have.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Why doesn't Hyundai use the silken & velvet like roof liner material.

Instead of the rough and coarse material that Germans use for their roof lining

Velvety smooth

I know the ultimate 5.0 in Canada get an upgraded suede headliner.

It still has the three distance lines, they are now dynamic guidelines that move as your turn the steering wheel showing you what path the vehicle will be following.

The base model 3.8 still has the straight red, yellow, green lines regardless of steering position. One of the option packages must add an upgraded rear view monitor experience.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Had anyone looked into the possibility of getting the fog lights added to the 3.8? I still find it funny that I can buy an 18k accent and get fog lights... obviously wasn't a deal beaker as I still bought the car but it surely is annoying.

We put a V6 up on the rack and dropped the skid plate along the front bumper, couldn't see any visible connectors/wires that would allow for this to be done. I'm not saying they aren't there it's just nothing obvious. Also the stalk on the V6 doesn't have a fog light switch so that would have to be changed.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Does anyone know if the auto wipers are tied to the auto lights? My mom's boss is looking at the new Pathfinders and when the auto wipers activate the headlights come on as well. This way you virtually never have to take either the lights or the wipers out of auto mode unless you want to mist.

Thanks,
Justin

Do not know but if you just keep the DRL switch in the on position you will be fine.

Only had the car two days so far but on the light stalk you can have the headlights on, the parking lights on, auto, and drl off. is there a separate switch for drl?

I was just curious if the full headlights would come on when the auto wipers sensed rain.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Sat in a new Genesis today while I was at the dealership for an alignment. I was very unimpressed by this car, no matter how much I want to fall in love with it.....I just can't. The new Genesis doesn't hit that excitement button for me. Compliments to it are the seats being more comfortable and the clever sorta hidden led interior lights for cabin illumination in the rear.

Sitting in it is fun but you need to go get a 5.0 Ultimate on the road for an extended test drive, I really think you'll fall in love with it. Almost every aspect of this car has improved, the technology and safety in this car is truly amazing compared to the first generation. She's not perfect but has surely come a long way since 2009 IMO.

I don't know about both on auto, but with it set to parking lights and auto wipers it doesn't override parking lights from what I could tell. TBH I never drive during the day with it on auto bc I hate the amber DRL's.

Miss the vents on the sides rear like my 2011. It was a nice touch. But the AC still rocks.

You know they put them under the front seats and on the back of the center console right? If anything I think the rear ventilation is better than the previous gen. There are also positives to not going through the door (sound isolation).

Did you just prefer the B-pillar position?

No I didn’t notice the vents were now under the front seats. Besides the one on the rear of center console. I’ll have to look closer but you’re right the AC works great in front or rear. Thanks.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I have a new dislike. Fit and finish. It's been 3 weeks and I just noticed the rear corner of the hood on the passenger side is raised greater than a 1/8" where it meets the front quarter panel. Standing over it, it is hardly noticeable, but it is very annoying from the perspective of the driver's seat. The other 3 corners are perfect and there doesn't appear to be any evidence of any event that could have caused this. I didn't see an obvious adjustment but I plan on taking a closer look tomorrow.
