  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

You goof balls.... The "curve ahead" warning is connected to road information provided thru GPS, just like the speed limit shown. If "maps" indicates a curve, the system announces it. If "maps" doesnt have it then no announcement.

Thanks for the quick advice, all. I'm with allagaroo. I would welcome a reliable and consistent warning, but she says "curve ahead" at random times. Yes, there's always a curve ahead, but I'll get the alert sometimes when I'm driving relatively slowly and the curve is gentle. Then I won't get it when I'm driving faster and the curve is sharper. Small thing. The car is magnificent.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

#1. The dash and LCD NAV/Radio displays have separate dimming controls. I'm driving at dusk and my dash and Nav. display seem like they are flashing out of sync because they are reacting to the low outside light but they don't seem to dim together. Also in auto dimming mode seems too sensitive to changes in outside light, especially at dusk, causing dash and Nav to dim on and off excessively until it gets completely dark and they finally stay dimmed.

#2. The auto windshield wipers to not automatically turn on headlights when its raining. Other less expensive cars I've owned all had that function. Hope Hyundai is made aware of this and can correct with a software flash instead of having to wait for a newer model.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Aluminum trim on dash and door panels is easily smudged and not easily wiped clean

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Don't know if anybody has noticed but the driver's and passenger heat/cool switches are labeled opposite. Maybe someone smarter than me can explain the logic. I find it a bit annoying.

Labeled opposite?

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Auto leveling headlamps do not come as standard equipment. I'm beginning to think the Genesis in more of a class a Nissan Maxima or Camry SE instead of BMW or ES 350. Luxury, not exactly , the little things are adding up. Maybe in 3 years when my lease is up, Hyundai will have paid more attention to the finer details and the new Genesis will be almost perfect.

Aaah haha, cool story brah.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Simply upgrading 1 level to the signature gets you HID (which auto-levels). The entry level 5 series (all 2.0 litres of it) doesn't even come standard with a backup camera or HIDs and is almost 20k more than the entry Genesis.... so.... what are you trying to say, exactly?

Are you talking about the "P" button which is for the Parking Sensors and is located next to the drivers side Heat/Cool switches?

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

It will be easier if I post a pic later instead of trying to explain.

Huh/ I haven't seen my headlights adjust. In the cars I've owned in the past with this feature the headlights would adjust right after you start the car. I'll take another look at my window sticker, I don't recall auto leveling headlamps listed.

Self-leveling headlights are required on all U.S. cars equipped with bi-xenon headlights. If you got the High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon Headlights, you got auto-leveling. Check the Hyundai website if not convinced.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

auto level headlamp device is option for 3.8 and standard for 5.0.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

While at first I didn't think this would be annoying, it's got me a few times. When you turn off the car (but haven't not yet opened the door) and the sunroof is open, you cannot close it unless the car is turned on. Most cars have a minute or so of power to windows, sunroof, radio, etc.

Yeah this gets me every time.
