In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

While at first I didn't think this would be annoying, it's got me a few times. When you turn off the car (but haven't not yet opened the door) and the sunroof is open, you cannot close it unless the car is turned on. Most cars have a minute or so of power to windows, sunroof, radio, etc.

Yea I feel you on this. You would think if the radio stays on after the car shuts off, you can close the sunroof too right?

You can close it without having to start the car by pushing the start button without pressing down on the brake peddle. The first time you press, you turn on ACC the second time will turn on the full power without the engine on.

Yeah, I finally figured that out. Just wish I could do it after I turn the car off and it starts alarming that the roof is open.

I am glad for the alarm though.. It's saved me a couple of times.

Thank you for this!

Nice tip, thanks!

Thanks! I was afraid of get getting a chorus of: "Well Duh!" :D

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

So I came close to getting and 09 Genesis and have been real interested in the 15 Genesis and feel like it is a game changer. What baffles my mind is how they could have left off LED DRLs? How do you target the Germans and leave off signature LED DRLs and use some crappy halogens? Wow what a disappointment.

AGREE!!!!

coming from AUDI and this is not acceptable .... I'm driving with parking ON but its sooo dim .... Genesis need fog lights standard as DRL or Bright Parking light strips

This is fixed for 16.

I am still hopeful for a solution for 2015's, but am afraid it will be too expensive or require an entire headlight assembly replacement. I would settle worse case for the LED fogs as DRL's is they could be wired as DRL's and not require full headlight son (non AUTO).

Meanwhile the 2015 Sonata loaner I had the other day, while HMA reps were looking at my sunroof, keeps the power on after you shutoff the engine - so you can close the windows and sunroof with no extra steps (until you open the door). It's a big miss that the Genesis can't do everything that lower models can do...

I think the 2015 and 2016 headlights are the same. The difference is the wiring harness and the Body Control Module (which, I believe, is what sends the DRL signal down the Turn signal wire in the 2015's ). The harness difference alone may make it not practical to "upgrade" the 2015 DRL's.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

If there is only a harness difference, it might be feasible to modify the harness to match the reconfigured harness. The key is to understand what the differences are. The best place to start is to compare the wiring diagram of the 2015 and 2016.

But aren't the LED headlight surrounds dimmer than those on the Canadian and non-US models? Are they different LED bulbs?

My 11 Azera has this as well.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I appreciate this thread. My wife has an 09 getting near the sell date (does not drive without the warranty) and the throttle lag is troubling in her 09. I wonder why they did not correct this. In a pinch it can mean a huge difference. Probably a deal breaker for us.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

A "dislike" of the 2015 Genesis model is an issue with a 2009

My Genesis does this, too. Every day I shut my car off and then crack the windows to keep the interior cool. I haven't tried the sunroof, though. I think there may be a 30-sec window that the controls work.

For the windows, yes , for the sunroof no. Annoying actually

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

When the car is first turned on it takes a few seconds do something as simple as turn the radio volume down. Small but frustrating.
