If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I guess I didn't do my homework enough before purchasing my Canadian Genesis but I am shocked that a car with all of many luxe features, does not have a remote start. The dealer has options, but they are crazy expensive and silly to have another key fob. I guess whenever Bluelink comes to Canada this might change things, however this is the only dislike for this vehicle, which BTW I love in some many ways.

Same here. I had to get it worked into the purchase price. Fortunately at 0% financing it was a no-brainer, but it should have been built in. I'm not holding my breath on Bluelink...I doubt it would even work with the existing models as they don't have the mirror or console buttons...

I had the Drone mobile version of remote start installed. No additional fob as you start the car with your cell phone similar to bluelink. Cost about $600 for the entire package installed and something like $120 US for a 3 year basic plan.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Looks like the illuminated door sills only light up for the driver and front passenger, no lights for the rear doors. Minor bummer because I assumed all would light up, would have been a nice touch for the Ultimate trim. For reference my 2007 lexus lights up front and rear sills, with a gradual increase in brightness.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I thought our cars came with LED DRL strips on the lower front bumper.. but the only LEDs are around the headlights. I think the car would look really nice with LED DRLs.. why did hyundai leave this out, when sonatas have them??

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

They are available as "fog lights" on the 5 liter only for 2015. Supposedly for 16 they added it to all the V6 trims except base.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I wish the side mirrors tilted down further in reverse. On a car this wide, I like to park as close to the curb as possible. On my Mercedes, they tilted down far enough so that I could see the rear wheel and know exactly how far I was from the curb. The ones on the Genesis don't tilt down far enough to see the rear wheel or the curb.

I also haven't liked auto wipers on any car that has had them, and the Genesis is no exception. Adjusting the sensitivity usually jumps from too slow to too fast. I wish I could disable the auto wipers and have a manual intermittent setting.

That's interesting.... mine tilt down TOO far. I want to see the tail corner and the ground - and it goes too far - so I am looking at wheel and some of the body panel in front of it.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

The front grille and headlights just don't look as good as my 2012. The interior might be a little better, but not the front end of the car.

are you serious? the front end of the first generation makes it look like some kind of crappy mercedes knockoff. the front end of the second generation is the most attractive and standout part of the car!

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

When the car is first turned on it takes a few seconds do something as simple as turn the radio volume down. Small but frustrating.

and I can't change the input on my 4k panel for almost 20 seconds while it boots

first world problems :D

Hahaha! Like the '15 grill doesn't emulate an Audi.

Hey, the '15 gets a pass since the original Audi designer did our design also. Not sure any Mercedes designers did the first generation ;)

Im absolutely serious. I would consider my 2012 to be 2nd generation as the car was modified from the 2008 etc. The 2015 would be 3rd generation in my opinion. I respect your opinion, but I like the Mercedes look my 2012 has, which is actually better looking than Mercedes.

I'm a firm believer in beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. That said I thought my 2011 was a great looking car and still do but I'll to throw my hat in the other camp. I think the 2015 is stunning in a different way if that makes sense.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Driving settings aren't persistent. Drive mode always resets from Eco/Sport to Standard when starting the car, for example. Probably some dumb government regulation as to why Cruise Control also begins disabled, since it's that way on all brands and models of cars. The AM/FM radio doesn't start on the presets column if that's where it was last, it begins on the station panel, which means you must manually move it back every time or else the rotator will advance by frequency rather than to the next preset.
