2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

While the car seem reliable and well made, its resale value is about as bad as it gets. Is the any other car on the market that depreciates this quickly? After buying a BMW X3, I am anxious to get rid of my Genesis sedan, but just after one year, the car is virtually worthless. Having owned an '09 and '16, this is clearly my last Genesis. In my opinion, the Genesis is a reasonable facsimile of a high-end vehicle, but falls short in terms of handling and performance.

If you consider what you really paid figures change A LOT.
Also, the leasing options are extremely competitive.
Finally, extended warranty is very affordable and produces a cost of ownership very low.
All computed: If Genesis follows the recent path I will be on my third Genesis in 2018.

No visible turn indicator light in sideview mirrors

Has anyone got a fix for this? I see some aftermarket stuff but really just need a "lens" that will relay the existing side view mirror turn indicator lights to somewhere on / in the sideview mirror that I can see..

Have 2015 5.0 tech. Head unit does not display album cover art when playing CDs. Also, cannot save favorite artists or songs on XM radio. Small features that I have on older, less upscale cars/trucks.

when test driving in noticed that the turn signal indicator, and the windshield switch don't have any LED indicator or light indicator to show settings in the dark. i pretty much know the settings without looking, but if i was looking for a specific setting i'd need to turn on the center light to see.

also those annoying audible messages when starting the car. i'll pass

maybe its me, but it seems when starting the car it reverts back to nav/radio screen. I would like for it to remain in bluetooth mode if that's how it was when i shut the engine off. i was test driving, so not sure if its just me.

lastly, is it possible to lock the car, using the key, when the engine is still running? i tried to look at settings and couldn't figure this out.
if not, that's annoying. id like to leave the engine on and lock the door when stepping into a gas station or convenience store. dont want to kill engine each time...

I fixed a few creaking issues, my pano roof has been perfectly fine.

Am I missing something why is this such a big deal? Not to be sarcastic but trying to figure out why this is seem to be an issue.

Im 6ft and when I set the seat and steering wheel where I want it (and in the recommended position re air bag not aimed at my face) I can not see the bezel turn indicators. The chime is very low toned and there is no alert when the signal is "accidentally" left on. So (like Audi and some others) Id like to be able to see in my sideview (which I check frequently) if the indicator is on. I noodled on it from fiber optics to 3d printing to drilling a hole to the led. But for $0.97 I found some little gems that I stuck on the mirror and they reflect enough light so as I can see if the blinker is on. I already won "lamest complaint"

Only complaint we have with our used 2015 base model 3.8 Htrac is the lack of dual seat settings. Got used to them with our traded in 2013 Azera and our 2016 Equus. But we can live without it. No biggie!

I just got my 2015 Ultimate 2 days ago and notice there is no 3D Map mode in the navigation, is this so or am I missing something ?.

With the new update you will get 3d map mode.

Can you tell me what is the latest update version and do you know anywhere that I can purchase the update other than ebay for a more reasonable price than the dealer, read somewhere that there are fake updates selling, thanks.

There is a thread on the update, mapandsoft is where you get it, but the guy who updated it said it wasn't worth it and it was slower, and now the update has been pulled from the site so maybe wait a bit before you make the purchase, its 200+ dollars for the SD card update.
