  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis "Likes":

No more unsafe than allowing the car to come to a complete stop all by itself :D

Not quite - if you your feet are at the pedals, rather than trying to swing your legs back into the compartment, that split second can count...

I also would test that auto braking against a soft surface IF I ever did attempt to try it. I would also not have my feet out of the pedal well in any case....

Agreed - I would never do this normally. Just an FYI, I did this 'test' on a lone stretch of road with no one around. Nothing unsafe about this whatsoever, especially with the active safety features. That said, it is good to know what the car does or doesn't do.

As for testing the emergency braking, it has come on once for me (not while using cruise) and I can assure you (1) it works and (2) it is ABRUPT because it waits until the very last moment to slam the brakes on.

The automatic braking is extremely unsafe. I was about to squeeze between two cars to pass an ******* going slow in the fast lane, when the little red car pops up on HUD then the car tapped on the breaks right as I was maneuvering into left lane causing me to cut off *******. If the car had slammed on breaks it would have been a collision.

Has anyone seen the plastic grocery bag holder in the trunk? Its a piece of plastic shaped like a small boat anchor that you pull down. Its in the center of the inside trunk right under the top lip. Pull it down and you can hang your plastic grocery bags from it.. way too cool. :)
First trip to the grocery store today. Guess how many bags you can fit on that thing? 7 or 8 believe it or not. I had 7 hanging on it. I was pretty surprised. Of course it will differ depending on how full your bags are, but most of mine were pretty full, and some pretty heavy. Okay Hyundai, I forgive you a little for the lack of a vertical cargo net.

I'm sure squeezing between 2 cars for whatever reason is totally safe and only the car is to blame here, not the problem between the leather seat and steering wheel...

Turn it off.

Another like. Have you noticed how effortlessly the seat belt buckle slides when you put them on? They really nailed this down. Very minor but appreciated.

Maybe it's just me, but my wife commented on it as well. When you put your seatbelt on, the system takes up a little slack to make sure the seatbelt is snug. I think that is pretty cool, although my wife said it made her want to pee one night after dinner and drinks.

Actually I think it pulls the belt ever so slightly when you start moving, like in some cars (and I think in this Genesis) there's a setting to lock the doors when speed reaches X mph.

Heated steering wheel.
42F this morning and loving it.

My 2012 Rspec had this option and yes I agree, wonderful. Wait until it gets really cold, you will be lovin it even more. Actually pretty amazing how quickly it heats up and how hot it gets.

The logic of not having this feature on any model but an AWD version is perplexing at best. CO2 sensors but no heated steering wheel....

Only had 30 min or so with a 3.8, but here we go:

Pros
1. Exerior. Love it, very Audiesque, a-la A7
2. Excellent crash scores.
3. Quiet, refined, controlled ride.
4. Good interior quality, almost on par with ze Germanz.
5. Great choice of colors ext / int.
6. Great tranny (ZF, German :D)

It has no competition in its class at this price range. All in all, I think it will sell well and it will bite from Lexus, Acura and Infinity. At the same time, it's still too Asian to lure a sizable chunk of Euro fan-boys.

The transmission is not ZF, it is a Hyundai design altough I think ZF manufactures it for Hyundai. My original 2009 Genesis had a ZF transmission, but later models changed to the Hyundai design when 8 speeds appeared.

Good insight.
