  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It's possible lobsenza is correct: that you CAN lock the doors with the fob inside the car IF YOU USE THE INSIDE DOOR LOCK but NOT the lock ON THE OUTSIDE DOOR. Sound right or wrong to people?

Only way is the window needs to be open so you can reach in to hit the lock button on the door panel as the door needs to be closed for this to function. However now the window is open so you are not locked out.

*Sigh* Uh, funny if you meant to be funny, otherwise, NO! The point is that you CAN lock the fob in the car by locking the car from the inside button which, the idea goes, would only happen when you are SITTING IN THE CAR. This allows you to be safe in the car with the fob and the car is locked.

The whole thing is that we KNOW two things: A) you leave the fob in the car and hit the lock button on the OUTSIDE door and it beeps to say "nope! I won't lock" - even when you hit button a few times - making you check to see what's wrong and eventually find the fob ... YET B) You CAN lock the fob IN the car ... when you lock the car using the door's INSIDE lock button.

So the only question is: Is it POSSIBLE to accidentally lock the fob IN the car using the OUTSIDE door button to lock the doors?

I bet if you put the fob in an anti-static bag or aluminum foil, you can lock the car with the fob inside. It just needs to be shielded so the car doesn't detect the fob.

Have you been drinking? You say we know the car won't let you lock the fob in the car via the outdoor button and then ask if it is possible to lock the fob in the car with the outdoor button?

I will try to answer this question as clearly as I can to avoid any confusion.

The question is.

Is it POSSIBLE to accidentally lock the fob IN the car using the OUTSIDE door button to lock the doors?

The answer is

NO.

I like the fact you can go in to the xm settings and actually skip channels that you don't want to hear while you browse through the channels :)

Where are all the Hyundai Genesis Christmas commercials??

My wife was driving the Genny the other night and I was following her home, and I gotta say that is a GREAT looking car from behind at night. The taillights, the led license plate lighting and especially the third brake light really meld together for a very elegant look. Hats off to the designers for a good job! The highmount brake light is very nicely done, whether lit or unlit. I like how it doesn't appear in the perimeter of the back window until it lights. I do have to say, however, that the winged emblem really is the icing on the cake for the rear view. Great job, Hyundai. :)

Agree entirely. Very aggressive IMHO. Also, I like the 2015 doesn't toe in the rear wheels as much as the previous model.

Comparing the tail lights in gen 1 vs gen 2, IMO, the gen 2 look so much better.

That's where I've got to disagree. I think the new tailights look like a Honda or Ford or something.

Actually, to me, it's the Gen 1 tail lights that look like a Honda:

Where they really stand out is when lit:

That would be because Honda copied the Gen 1 tailights. There's been discussion of this in another thread. Actually, we could discuss who's copying whom....
