  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis "Likes":

early impressions of a leased base genesis 3.8l AWD...likes: ride, drive, interior and exterior style, engine power and smooth transmission, great a/c, and comfy seats. :D

I like smart cruise control a lot more than I expected. I always assumed it was something that I wouldn't use or trust. However, after getting used to it I find that it's very convenient in the right situations. I didn't realize how much I used it until today when I was driving a service loaner that didn't have it.

I like SCC when the car ahead is at nearly the same speed, or when someone unexpectedly jams on the brakes. When there is a slowpoke ahead it has a tendency to brake sooner and harder than I would like (using the closest following distance), and when the lane clears, it accelerates harder than I would prefer. This is easily prevented by using the cancel button, coasting to slow down, and hitting the resume button when you're at nearly the same speed of the car ahead, or the cruise speed if no one is ahead of you.

I know. For a "Smart" Cruise Control, I often wish it was a little smarter!

We were in an area this weekend that we knew very well but still use the NAV system to dial in our destination. We were taking our normal short cuts ignoring the NAV system and this time before she recalculates, she tells us something to the effect that there is extreme traffic and to make a U-Turn. Of course we ignore her. Come to find out we should have listened. There was a convention going on and the traffic was backed up.

Cool feature for sure and going forward when we hear that warning again, we will adhere to it. :D

Been there, done that..made same type of mistake. The trip had major back up due to weekday construction. Did not tell me this up front, and the path it chose seems odd and slower. Should have taken the extra steps (why should it be extra steps) to check traffic.. Oh, also had it choose the path once with extreme traffic, but the traffic from XM had sent the updates to the system right at start up. Sometimes seems like a delay for that.

Found what I thought might be a "hot" feature... When car is fresh started, hot day, cabin smoldering in heat, AC fan running in Max mode, when making a phone call it will turn down the fan. Hang up, and fan goes back to full speed. Make another call, fans slows and gets quieter. Since I hit the phone many time right away, adds to cooling time. After I recently experienced this and tested making calls and hanging up to see the this, I then made a third work related call in a row while cabin was hot. Let it slow the fan down.. Then I flipped it to high manually.. The caller in other end did not hear any noise. The noise canceling cut the fan noise out.. Which is very cool.. However, I did notice it being a bit harder to hear clean conversation on my end with fan blasting. Not so much I would complain. Anyway, anyone else confirm the kinda cool feature of slowing the fan noise while on a call when cabin is hot?

Set to full auto climate mode when observing this.

Also confirmed.

Speaking of hot days, I do like the remote start from the website. As long as I'm on the one internet-connected computer in our office (which I'm normally not), I can start the car before I leave my office and it'll be cool by the time I get out to the parking lot.

I complained about not having a keyfob remote start when I first got the car. I realize now that the keyfob wouldn't have enough range to start the car from my office, and if I started it from the parking lot it wouldn't have enough time to cool off before I got to it.

You can also download the Genesis App or Bluelink App and start the car from your cell phone.

I really like the Google search function. Each time I ride with my wife and we decide where to go, we discuss the best route. The nav shows traffic and I like being able to quick voice search a place and plot the course and we can debate it. 99% of the time, we just follow the genesis' route.

how about a smart phone????

We can't bring them into the building where I work. I do use my phone to start my car at home and other places.

I don't know whether this should be classified as a "like" but we were traveling through the White Mountains last week and my wife asked me what altitude we were at. Not knowing I decided to ask Siri. She replied " I don't know but don't look down". I wasn't aware that Siri had a sense of humor. I guess that's a like. Being able to access Siri by holding the talk button is pretty neat.

I like how the radio buffers 6 station on satellite radio. If i change to a station and catch the end of a song, i can easily skip to the beginning of the song

The fit and finish of the interior is superb. I love the huge brakes and the rear end of this car. Very classy and clean.

Used nav for the first time and I'm really impress compared with my last 2012 Azera. The voice is very life-like and clear I'm very happy so far on it's accuracy

If you go into the setup menu, one of the GPS icons will give you not only the GPS coordinates, but also altitude.
