  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

It excludes rebates, incentives, and dealer's fees. Dealer's Fees could be most any amount. Always beware of fine print.

The deals are out there. A recent written quote was $38,322 with only additional being freight ($795) and dealer processing ($200). The rest was expected tax, title and tags. On the road just over $42K Similar deals in the recent purchases thread here and Edmunds.

IMO naming specific parts on specific vehicles means they have a different warranty..
I am not sure I agree. Only AWD cars have a live transfer case that is part of the drivetrain, and only the Genesis has RWD (I think the omission of Equus is becasue it is covered in the separate Equus doc). The warranties are the same for all Hyundai vehicles (except minor difference for Equus), it is just that in a FWD car, the rear axle by definition is not part of the drivetrain.

He seemed to be referring specifically to RSpec
Maybe, but I did not seem him say one way or the other. If he thinks he can get a brand new 2013 or 2014 Genesis R-Spec Sedan for $30K (even next July), then he must be living in Colorado or Washington State.

Huh? A transfer case isn't required for AWD, very few AWD cars have one and those are weird combo setups that also have a clutch pack or viscous coupling in addition. An isolated transfer case is for a 4x4. FWD cars don't have rear axles...

You know perfectly well that my point is that the rear wheels (whether on a single rear beam axle or independent suspension) are not part of drivetrain on a FWD vehicle.

Bottom line is that the warranty is the same for all Hyundai vehicles, except for minor enhancements for Equus. Discussion of specific AWD, 4WD, and RWD components on the Hyundai warranty page is to clarify that some additional parts on RWD or AWD are included in the drivetrain warranty (as opposed to FWD).

Here is his post:
I am quite sure I won't be able to swing the estimated 50 grand RSPEC price tag so my game plan is to pick up one of the 2014 models and pay down as much as I can in 2 years then trade it for a 2015 after they work out and bugs.
I see your point, but he says "one of the 2014 models" so I think this is inconclusive as to whether he actually thinks he can get a brand new 2014 R-Spec for $30K after the 2015 comes out (unless he lives in Colorado or Washington State).

Checkout the center console. No DIS knob and many fewer buttons in the surrounding region.

I think you are mistaken. See the knob in the photo below.

I believe he was referring to the "in the wild" picture linked in his post where the interior shot does appear to be different from the press pictures you linked - the console area is different and missing a knob or two.

I just noticed that in the interior photo. Not a clear image however the interior looked very blah in the shifter area without the knob. Must be a base model car?

He isn't mistaken. The car he shows in that link clearly has no DIS knob, and is missing many of the features shown on the pic you provided.

Remember... the Genesis in Korea is sold from a bare-bones model (I believe the 3.3L), all the way up to an almost-Equus-like trim with goodies we don't have (like cooled passenger seat, adjustable suspension, front camera, rear entertainment center, etc etc).

If history repeats itself... our HMA models will NOT look exactly like the picture you posted. For instance, that car probably has the back seat monitors - I doubt we'll get that feature here.

If we do get them... expect a nice price bump to the low to mid $50k's.

Yes, I am looking at the R-SPEC. Thanks for the tip on paying attention for when the 15's hit the lot. Does anyone know a good place to get inside information for when the 2014's and 2015's will be hitting the lots? I will be monitoring this site for sure but wanted to know if maybe the Hyundai site posts that information in advance.

Sounds like I am dreaming on a new 30k R-SPEC. Cheapest 2013 I have seen here in Florida was $37,900 in Miami. Guess I should aim a little higher so not to get discouraged.

'14's are already on some lots. I see them rolling in and out here on the west coast at the point of entry.

I've got a buddy who now works at the POI for the cars and will keep in touch with him as time draws nearer to a expected arrival. I'll post up here when I see them arrive and maybe even a few pics. ;)

Just out of curiousity...why does the american version always get trimmed out on goodies like those? especially the front camera option...i don't get it :(

Awesome... I check here often...

I suspect to keep the price below the targeted competitors here. In order to compete against the cachet of german sedans, the price and warranty become major weapons. If the price gets too close to those cars, buying decisions get a little more tricky.

2014's have already started hitting dealer lots, but depends on the dealer as to how many they have in stock (if any). Semi-official word is that 2015 will start selling in US by 2Q 2014, which is usually interpreted to mean end of 2Q (June 30).
