If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Hyundai has sold 12k of the new Genesis in less than a month in Korea.

While I don't expect to see those kinds of nos. for the US market (or for that pace to continue), should hit around 30k in sales for a full calendar year.

Funneeeee, so the car is a '14 model in Korea, but not here.

It's coming here next month as a '15 model

Drastic difference. The KDM double projector exude class and fit a luxury car. The 3.3 versions look like rental car headlights. Drop the HUD and give me these headlights.

I assume you mean coming to the Detroit NAIAS? I hope the 3.8KDM lights come with the technology packs on the 3.8 and 5.0 USDM models. Those 3.3KDM lights are very boring imo.... the central amber is too American for my taste. To put it another way, if we get the 3.3KDM lights as the only option then they will be a downgrade from the current Genesis IMO.

The HUD is 3rd or 4th on my list of things to drop from the KDM model to get the headlights, but I definitely agree with the general point. Headlights aren't a good target for cost cutting. Especially not with how important they are to the overall look of the car and its (ideal) competitors.

Las Vegas not Detroit. About 2 weeks left to know about us version of 15' genesis.

Vegas is only for interior tech from what I've read. The exterior, presumably including headlights will be under camo. The full release is Detroit. Regardless I was making sure you weren't suggesting it was going on sale.

I'll sign on to the side voicing displeasure with the likely downgraded US headlight options. Lack of an all-LED option is disappointing, and having no dual projector setup is completely unacceptable at this point in time. As much as I like the revamped exterior, there is no way I will be replacing my 2011 in with a 2015 without better lighting options. If they still aren't available when I actually need to replace my car, I will be looking elsewhere.

I'm left scratching my head over the thought of "competing" by offering lower-end options than the "competition." Perhaps Hyundai really is trying to create a market segment between the true luxury cars class and vehicles like the 300.

^ It shows the crap headlights. Well, that sucks for us. Still, I wonder why they would tool and produce the LED lights with orange reflectors if they aren't offered in the US?

I'm still not ready to give up hope! I hope that the full LEDs are available as an option or else it's a tremendous oversight by Hyundai.

Are you talking about LED headlights? or LED turn signal? If you meant, LED headlights, this time that doesn't exist in South Korea either, maybe next facelift model?) I guess LED head lights'll cost like any other brand(AUDI, BMW), so if we really like to have, I think we could replace it with future LED headlights like 1st generation genesis.

I'm not sure of the sentiment of not buying a car because it does not have an option that is currently a small percent of the market (LED is only 2% of headlights produced worldwide this year). It will be 2020 before they reach 20% market (source: Osram). At a cost currently twice that of xenon, it is still not close to mainstream and aside from some exceptions (ex. Prius), targeted at vehicles not in the Hyundai buyers target.

While they look cool and I hope they are available, their absence would not deter from what may be a otherwise stunning car.

I don't think it's a tremendous oversight, especially if you consider the take rate of LED headlights on the ideal competitors. It is somewhat disappointing, but the fact that they didn't release with the KDM model doesn't bode well. I wouldn't be surprised if we see them on the next Equus. I would be happy with the double projector with the LED turn signal. I just don't like that central amber light at all.

Of all the pictures that are floating around, I haven't seen one with the slanted H emblem. Even the ones meant for NA are sporting wings emblem. I wonder if this will stay true.

It may be like the Equus, the emblem in the front, steering wheel, etc but then on the back would have the Hyundai emblem. On the hyundaigenesis.com website it does show the emblem on the front but then the back part is hidden so we can't really see the emblem there.

I meant full LED headlights like we've seen in spy shots.

Update: I did some investigating on Photoshop with the back hidden part on the count down page, and it indeed does have the hyundai emblem for the back. Also I notice the dual pipes.

It's safe to say what I mentioned above will likely be that way.
