If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

From what I've seen of the 2015 Genesis they spent money on a plethora of areas that will make this car exponentially better. LED headlamps won't make the car better like better seating, improved suspension and rack mounted power steering, nicer dash, heads up display, 9.2" nav screen, real wood dash, more high strength steel and a more elegant product all adding up to a lot of $$ in cost. Somewhere they have to make a value judgement. The car is still going to be beautiful. I'll tell you more when I see the finished product next Saturday with no camouflage.

I disagree with the idea of "value judgment" covering something like an optional and popular headlight assembly that gets (more than) charged to customers selecting the option. Still, we've kind of beaten that horse so I won't harp on it.

Looking forward to your report and hope, if asked for feedback, you mention there's some serious concern about headlights.

Pizzaguy. I will definitely cover that for you. Of course everyone has those items that really grab them on a vehicle and although I disagree with you, you are still not wrong. That's all about an individual's own preferences. Happy New Year.

To heck with the headlights debate. Do the front door map pockets fold out like on my 2011 Genesis?

Things I don't like about the 2015.

Smaller front door pockets.
No B pillar ac vents.
No chrome trim, just silver.
Front license plate location.
Clam shell doors on console( I have these on my MB E500, they are a PITA. )

Things I do like.
seats
dash styling and layout and clock
Rear lights
Front grill.

After looking at the Genesis on Hyundai's Korean, not American website, I agree the license plate is in an odd location. But it might be different for the U.S. model.

here's my most hated items in the current generation Genesis in no particular order:

1. Automatic windshield wiper function - completely unpredictable and the most useless electric accessory in the entire car (this is 2 years later and I still hate it).
2. Dead pedal foot rest - too small for size 11 feet. A 2013 Sonata has a MUCH better foot rest
3. The driver rear view mirror - defaulting to green mode at any hint of light day or night. The DEFAULT should be OFF!!!
4. The 8 speed transmission - it's way too slow shifting down through 3 or 4 gears.
5. Small tires - 235 is way too small for this much power, and I got the V6!

now if anyone wants to test the 2015 for any of the above gripes, I would appreciate it. I know the tires are going up in size, but the windshield wipers, I hope they go back to regular intervals instead of that smart crap that goes from 0 to break neck in no time and requires 3 wiper flips before it listens to a change command.

Regardless, looking forward to 2015 as the Genesis is currently the front runner even though I have to admit I did look at the Chevy SS, Acura RLX AWD, and the latest C&D article on E63 AMG got me all riled up...

Says US sales date late 2014 or early 2015. I thought it was going to be summer 2014

I think it needs more chrome. Not a huge fan of the frosted metal(plastic). Its grown on me a bit on the 2012 inside door handles and etc.. but not sure on the outside. Also the back end looks a bit naked without some chrome.

Just realized this was posted two places... The article looks like crap. They list 425 and 430 hp. They list a release no one else does, a smaller price increase than anyone else, and LED headlights... Also being what I perceive as a no-name site I'm going to go with ignoring it if they don't give a source for their info.

I don't know how to answer this completely. But since I've already had two hours in the seat of the 2015 Genesis I can definitely tell you it does not have active bolsters and you may still find the bolsters inadequate for you. But the seats are "FAR" superior to my 2013. They are more firm for long rides but have what seems like a thin layer of softness over it so yu don't feel like your riding on a brick like you might in a Mercedes. My opinion, I love the new seats. I don't drive my car hard so I don't need anything holding me in place during spirited driving. But if you're on a six hour highway drive you're going to find the cabin of this car a much more pleasant place to be. Everything about this car is richer on the inside. From the firmer seats covered in a better quality of leather, to the faux alcantara headliner, the real wood, the quieter interior, the bigger nav screen, better touch points, this is a player. As I've said to others on the forum, my neighbor owns an Audi A7 that I drive regularly, my wife has an Audi A5 Cabriolet, neither car is close to the new Hyundai. As far as the drive I can't say until I am lucky enough to pilot the vehicle myself. But it sure feels and looks right from the passenger side. I'm a car guy from Detroit and used to say " friends don't let friends drive Hyundai". But now I'm a believer.

Yeah, I think it would have been better using chrome rather then the frosted look, especially the new wing emblem. Now it reminds me of a cheaper looking plastic from something like Scion's logo. Maybe it will look better in person though.

I actually prefer the trim as is. It is supposed to mimic aluminum, which is found on luxury auto's. I am not a fan of plastic chrome, or any chrome for that matter.

I have a Mercedes E500 w/sport pkg. and a E350 w/amg sport pkg. and they have chrome as does my 2011 Genesis 4.6 with tech pkg. The newest Mercedes models in the S class and E class continue the use of chrome.

You have 05 and 07 Benzes, and at that time, chrome was still widely used. The newest luxury autos, for years, have nixed chrome. Audi started this years ago with the 's' line of vehicles, being predominately monochromatic with brushed aluminum mirrors and accents. Chrome is still used, but far less on German autos, and the trend has and will continue to be away from this. It doesn't make your view of liking it wrong, just a fact of the auto industry. And just to be clear, none of these comments are intended to be hostile in any way -- it's a discussion forum so I'm discussing. :grouphug:

Now, back to the Genesis.......

still in love with my white pearl 2012 :welcome: Maybe the interior dash could use refinement but it's stupid simple and thats attractive.

Could use:
blind spot detection, power trunk closure, front camera (middle east has em!), paddle shifters. Otherwise stylistically, the 2012 is still damn sexy :D. Could care less about Mercs/Audis/Bimmers.

cheers and happy new year!

2014 s class is a Chrome Grill. I do agree that a lot of chrome has been changed to silver on newer Luxury cars which in my opinion is sad. However, the silver on the new Genesis would not be a deal breaker for me.

Here is the best site i have found for all the details that are on in other articles regarding the 2015 Genesis. The articles has an outline at the end and it lists about every aspect you can think of. If you look at the lower part of the article, the outline is further detailed with info. This info is from numerous articles with references. This beats the hell out of the minimal article in the MT magazine that just came out the other day. MT only cares about Performance, not seats, etc etc.

According to this article the seats will be power bolster controled, and the entire front seat will be totally different ... lower profile bottom cushion, and denser foam (like the better seats in BMW, and many other performance cars. I honestly cannot drive my new 2013 Genesis Rspec due to the very lacking seats and the absence of telescoping steering wheel (one inch of telescope is not even functional --- they changed telescoping due to some issues, thus they did a software change which essentially eliminated the telescope function. Love the car, but hate to ride in it due to spine. But according to the article the new 2015 has changed the seats dramatically (this is depicted by the pictures as well as some Hyundai YouTube clips that show exactly how the seat has been redesigned completely. Regards.
