Looks great. I'm surprised the American media (blogs) weren't there covering it.

As for the wood, one picture shows wood with a natural matte finish, so I'm sure there will be options.

I prefer chrome interior door handles like in 2009 to 2011, not silver plastic.

I noticed that the HVAC vent tubes are missing between the side of the dash and the front door when open. I guess that means that the vents on the B pillars are not carried over from the current model. I do like the larger grips on the steering wheel. That looks more comfortable to grip while driving than mine.

OMG...i didn't notice the chrome around the whole grill area that kinda threw me off... but everything else looks pretty okay

Duct for B pillar is probably in the floor.

Well the LA Auto Show starts today, and Edmunds seemed to think the Genesis would be unveiled there. Will be good to see some "official" photos.

There have been a bunch of mixed reports on this. I think it's supposed to be a Tucson model. There was an interview of an HMA bigwig months ago stating pretty firmly it was going to be Detroit. Auto blogs are definitely split on it though. I'll see if I can find it when I get home.

According to this Autoweek piece, http://www.autoweek.com/article/20131024/CARNEWS/131029906, selected members of the press have already driven the new Genesis and will be free to publish their reviews beginning on November 26.

Interesting article. From a personal perspective, a little concerned that it can not confirmed that AWD will offered with V8. Will have to wait and see.

I like the CO2 sensor, am on the fence about AWD (don't really need it in Texas, but if it's like Audi and AWD improves the dry-weather handling as well, then I'm all for it), and I don't really care about the automatic trunk thing. I'm most excited to hear about the ride/handling improvements they're eager to show off. If I were Hyundai, I'd want the info out this week rather than next due to the nationwide Thanksgiving shutdown lol.

The NA debut will be at NAIAS while the Korean debut will be next week (was always a bit skeptical about NAIAS being the world debut since Hyundai typically launches for the Korean market 1st).

Supposedly, the HTRAC AWD system improves handling but it's optional.

Thanks for the pictures Gene.

There is virtually no chrome other than the grill! The rear looks bland and bloated like a duck's rear. Perhaps the chrome bar on the trunk (below the logo and above the licence plate) could make a difference.

Gene, any chance you can post higher resolution photos? Interested in seeing how it looks from the side and definitely the size of the tires on the AWD.
