  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I think when they're out on the road the size and proportions of the car will negate this. I do think the back is a little plain with the LED's off in photos, but I think the sheer size of the car and the RWD proportions with short overhangs will set it apart pretty well in person, but since I didn't get a chance to go to Detroit that's pure speculation.

Italia -- My main concern for the 2015 2nd G is the seat re-design (power side bolsters, larger bolsters, leather running vertical which holds a driver in the middle versus old Genesis horizontal leather with seam crossing drivers spine perpendicular, and new Genesis upper seat breaks forward -- can see the hard plastic back covering that is segmented near the top instead of being simply straight as previous Genesis seats, and also the seats are lower versus the higher present seats that are akin to a SUV/Cross-over seat feel/ride).

But, I agree with your assessment of the 2015 2nd G you posted. I'm glad they did not lengthen the overall car, but increased the wheel base to 119 inches (vs old 116 inch). This will help balance the car better by having less over-hang. The rear view of the 2nd G might be more appealing since it is not real busy, and the quad tail-pipes will change the rear appearance some. Again for me, I need to be comfortable driving the car first .... after that comes the performance & appearance.

So, waiting for April release. Personally, my new 2013 Genesis Rspec is a great car except for the seats. I sure do not 'want' to pull the trigger and get a new BMW 535i just for their great seats before trying the new re-designed seat in the 2015 2nd G. Regards.

I was able to see the new Genesis at the NAIAS. It was beautiful. The first thing I looked at was the
front grille. I wasnt sure if it was going to look a little obtrusive. It did not. It is not as big in person as it is in some of the photos. I focused more on the 3.8 as that is what I am interested in. I was a little disappointed that there was not a darker or even a medium brown leather interior as shown in some of the photos from Korea. The paint was beautiful and there was no orange peel as you can see even on the new C7.
The display was not that great. The new 3.8 was tucked in at an eye level semi circle, blocking the view of passers by which I thought was strange. the 5.0 was hiding in the back of the display. I thought it would be more open and elevated for the premier.
I will try to post a few pics later. The photos from the press kit are far superior to mine so Im afraid my photos wont show anything substantial.

Please post pics as soon as you can.. :)

MSUGenesis-The window tint on my '11 is a little weak. In fact, I have observed many other manufacturer's cars with darker factory tint. Did it appear that the windows were adequately tinted?

The tint from what I remember was in fact a little weak. Personally I would go darker, but that is just my preference.

Not surprised. Very difficult in NJ to get approved adequate window tinting even with a script. Problem is that I spend all summer in SC and have to deal with with the overwhelming heat.

Here a a few of the NAIAS Genesis photos. I hope the link works.

Thanks for the pictures (the link does work)

So, this appears to confirm that the heated rear seats and steering wheel were on the rwd v8 at the show and not the awd v6  one of many things they need to straighten out. Did we also just learn that there will be no saddle-brown interior in the US?

It seems everything I would have opted for is being denied to the US market...

The heated steering wheel button appeared blank, hopefully that is not etched in stone yet. Also I'm dissapointed that there was not a saddle or darker brown. Maybe that is not final either. It seemed as though the pics I have seen from Korea offered much more choice for interior colors. Yes I was looking forward to a saddle or dark brown. (like Brownstone in the C7 corvette).

Funny they used all these illustrious sexy exterior names such as Cassablanca White, Ibiza and Montecito Blue, Santiago Silver and then when it comes to interior they have grey, black, beige, ivory. Not a big deal but just thought that was kind of funny.

I just got back from the Detroit auto show and yes it does have the heating steering wheel along with self close doors (like what BMW has). I seen these in the 5.0 model. I will have some pics to come. Led turn signal is in the back but not the front headlights unfortunately. MUCH MUCH better improvement compared to current model. It looks much better in person. The material and buttons feel BETTER then my friends 2012 BMW 3 series and I drive that every once in awhile

Also the new interface and swipe features in the new infotainment system is great! Very fast and responsive. Way better then the awful Cadillac cue.

Great pics. Thanks. Im a little disappointed that a lot of the high tech options were omitted from the KDM version. Maybe they will add them to the new upcoming RSpec if that is really gonna happen.

Which options are you referring to?

Not sure that I didnt see it in the pics from the auto show, but will they have all the cameras on board? Auto parking? We know or suspect there will be no HTRAC on the V8 for now.

I know they cut some of the toys out to keep the cost down, but I would like to think if someone wants to pay for those toys at least they would offer them.

NP. You can go to Korea and purchase a loaded one there, and have it imported to the US.

LOL... and all/most of the text will be in Korean. Dont forget the import fees(taxes). I live in WA State where taxes are some of the highest in the nation. They want to pass ANOTHER tax on our car tags. $150 per $10,000 for urban transit. I dont ride the bus so I would like to see some of that money spent on our crappy roads. Seattle government is the worst !

Rear entertainment and accompanying controls, park assist, dual projector headlights, and around-view monitor are missing. Heated steering wheel and heated back seat are in a state of limbo as to which US models they will be available on. Not tech, but saddle brown leather also appears to be absent.

The only option in that list, other than AWD V8, that would concern me is the heated steering wheel. I guess we all have plenty of time for speculation but nothing can be confirmed until Hyundai USA makes the appropriate announcement. I just hate Limbo..
