  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2020 G70 U.S. availability

There is no issues with paint.
There have been a couple members on here with issues, even if small. Havana Red was the one with the most problems.

There was an issue with HR color matching...not physical issues on the car.

If anyone has had issues...definitely one-offs and rare.
That's correct. HR haven't had any physical issues with the paint. They had a color matching problem some months ago but that was fixed.

I have not seen any post in the forum about HR having issues with paint. What was reported was a halt in production some months ago due to a matching issue.

Glad to see some 2020 window stickers starting to show up. Since a VIN is assigned I assume those cars are built and at port somewhere? For 2019s I usually saw the port as NC and the 2020s seem to say PT. One of the dealers I had talked to while test driving mention North Carolina and somewhere in California as ports of entry. Odd that on both the US and Korean Genesis web sites nothing at all is mentioned about 2020s yet. Both Hyundai and Kia are advertising some 2020 models already but Genesis is totally silent.

First sentence was general. Second sentence on HR was on my personal experience and my local dealership. Genesis corporate took back several HR cars from the dealer due to issues in paint.

There were a few on the Genesis of Vancouver (Washington) website earlier today, no pics.

My car came through Brunswick GA as port of entry. The same port where the Hyundai car carrier turned sideways and is photographed elsewhere on this site. It is a major port for RO-RO for South and East US. I live in NC and am not aware of RO-RO at a NC port.

Mine came in via the Philadelphia port.

Cars do not come in via NC. Just the 2 ports on the east coast.

Thanks for the clarification. Most window stickers I’ve seen say port is NC so figured that was North Carolina. Must need a decoder ring to decipher the port listed on window stickers or what PT means as listed on the 2020 stickers. Was still thinking I had a dealer tell me one existed on West coast too and thought he said California?

The West Coast ports are Hueneme and Seattle I believe.

I got a 2020 G70 booklet, and there are a few more changes not mentioned here. This is what I've found so far:

  • 2.0T Elite and 3.3T Standard trims do not come with ventilated seats anymore. You need the 2.0T Prestige or 3.3T Elite to get the ventilated seats.
  • 2.0T Dynamic trim doesn't exist anymore; it's just 2.0T Prestige RWD or AWD now. Before, 2.0T Prestige only came in AWD, and to be honest this change is more intuitive.
    • Based on the wording of the booklet, this also means RWD Prestige and Sport trims now have a heated steering wheel. The heated steering wheel is listed as a Prestige feature and not AWD limited, and the Sport trim has all the Prestige features.
  • 2.0T Sport (automatic) trim now comes with power driver bolsters. The bolsters previously only came with the 3.3T trims.
  • Color names have been changed, so now Santiago Silver is now Savile Silver and Casablanca White is now Uyuni White. Not sure if the booklet is just being weird or if the name changes will actually be reflected on window stickers.

The loss of ventilated seats in the lower trims is quite a shame. That was a huge plus for the G70 in my eyes, especially vs. competitors, though I've only lived in hot climates so I may put too much weight on that. The heated steering wheel for RWD is nice though. Just because you don't need AWD doesn't mean it doesn't get cold for hands lol.

Thanks for posting @Lelantos! Ok, so the real question is... what's the difference between 2019 Santiago Silver and 2020 Savile Silver? From what it looks like, Savile Silver seems a bit darker. It's either great or not great if Santiago is better looking!!

Since the M/T says it has deleted Radar cruise under "deleted options", does that mean you don't have the fake square painted grille radar in the front grille? Because if so I consider that a win/win

I'm also curious about the silver color differences, as well as uyuni white versus Casablanca white. Would love to see side by side pics once these 2020 cars are more readily available.

Here is a better picture of the color swatches in the sun light since the ones in my PDF were a little dark.

Hmmm.... The Savile Silver almost looks darker, and a different tone (ie warmer?) than the Santiago Silver. But, it's all guessing on my part, as you can't really compare magazine print with the actual car color.
