  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Aftermarket Subs in Genesis?

thanks for the info zielritter i will give it a shot this weekend. i'm not sure why i'm having so much issues with this car. I've used this amp and woofers in my previous car and it had major bass. but i had an after market stereo in my other car and was getting a direct sub output.

No problem. And sorry, I meant the RIGHT side if you're facing the trunk from behind the vehicle, not the left side.

Maybe subs are out of phase. Most amps have a button to toggle this

Hey guys,

Sorry not to bright when it comes to this. I got my amp and woofer set up already, I'm sure this as been asked before.

Where can I get the audio feed for the amp? And how to do it?
And also where you guys connect the power signal from the amp?

Thanks

I will PM you the wiring diagram. You will need a LOC of some sort to convert the signal. You can get an AudioControl from Ebay for something like $150, which comes with a remote level controller and has a auto turn on feature when it detects signal.

You will need to tap the factory sub signal and route to the LOC, from the LOC to the amp, and then amp to the sub. Power signal can come from the LOC to the amp, given the auto detection. You can run all power and ground from the factory terminals (within 3' for ground) as the battery is in the trunk.

I will be installing my setup (nothing fancy for the time being) May 3. I will try to document the process and write a step by step how to. If it suffices, hopefully we can get it stickied for future reference.

Yeah I just got a 12in kicker, I got the amp sub and everything connected already. I just need to tap in the audio and the remote signal for the amp

For my loc I just tapped the wires near factory sub

I have read this thread front to back. I will have my new system in by months end.
I will let you know how it goes. It will be a little more than most put in there Gennys. Im doing 3-10s with 4000w

I'm sure Wisconsin will appreciate the knock-down of their parking lot snow-piles from those babies. :D

Good luck!

What subs are you planning on using?

Alright guys, just setup my amp today. Connected the LOC from the amp plugs. In my car they are four cable to the sub woofer.

Which is the top plug/ black on the amp. Yellow/orange/brown/black wires.
I tapped into a wire tech line recommended for me but it didn't work. I'm still looking for a remote wire by the amp.

But I plugged everything up and it works great.

I think a sub is going to be my next move as well. Im torn between spending the money on a new air compressor or a sub setup which i havent had one in about 5 years now. Im probably going to do one Sundown Sa-12 but they are on national backorder till June. I may even do one Sundown Sa-8 which can hit as hard as a 10 or 12 in a correctly built and tuned box

What subs are you planning on using?

Nothing special, just some MB Quart ONYX squares.

I'm not trying to win any battles between my car and another. If I was, I would have spent x6 on some Image Dynamic IDQv4

Pulled weather strip, drop roof top, snapped on speakers, ran down side. Less than 5 mins

I tapped into the amp for woofer output. Pulled the right side panel to the side, found my yellow/white/brown/black wires all together. Went to the driver door fuse box for remote. Top left fuse, audio ign. Bought an "add a circuit" from auto parts. Connected my amp.
I got 1 12in kicker. It sounds perfect. Very happy with it.

Has anyone here ran an lc8i or lc6i? I'm trying to hook one up and just cut the output plug wires on my stock 7 speaker amp and ran them to the lc8i inputs but not sure if I have done it correctly, does this look right? Btw I see no wires on the output side for the sub? Only one lone blue with orange striped wire

already replied in ikillsuckers thread.

Anywho, my system is now installed. As soon as tomorrow comes and I tidy it up I will post pics.

Very nice. Can't wait to see; can't wait to do my install next weekend!

Here are the pics of the system I installed last night, tuned this morning and tucked today.

The RCA's are now completely behind the carpet and only sneak up from behind the amp.
