  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Brake Caliper Covers

Just order a set of Caliper Cover for my R-Spec from Ben. Will post some picture once is on the car.

I think these look great. I have a 2011 4.6 sedan and would love to have some. However, I can't bring myself to fork out the money for them. I would want the red with Genesis engraved on them. If they could be bought for $150 I would probably get a set. But, I just can't spend twice that for them.

MGP engraved sets sell for about $179 at CarID and Summit Racing.

Is that with 'Genesis' or 'MGP' engraved on them? I am not interested unless they have 'Genesis' engraved on them.

With the MGP logo. You want your cake and eat it too don't you? :)

Why not? Why would the price be different?

MGP sets are our standard production pieces which are stocked and shelved.

Any custom engraving, color, or mixture of configurations have to be made from scratch. This takes setup time and man power. Bottom line is that from a production stand point, it costs more to produce.

I get that but have to admit I am a little shocked that you don't stock a few GENESIS engraved ones.

Are all those Corvette ones custom priced?

Corvette is my #1 selling part number. Genesis has not reached that point and to be very honest, probably will not.

With over 600 part numbers, there is obviously some production and stock management.

With what is involved in the manufacturing process, quality of materials, and the fact that they are made in the USA, the pricing is very fair. Sure, we could send the jobs overseas and drop the price, but we are an American company and plan to keep it that way.

You would need to contact a distributor such as CarID to conduct a Group Buy. Sherwood Automotive may actually be a better fit.

As a manufacturer, MGP does not conduct Group Buys.

Thanks.

Just to throw my two cents worth into the mix here; you should know that my covers were the first ones produced with the word Genesis engraved and also the first ones done in gold. I requested the word Genesis, chose the color code for the gold and paid accordingly. I even selected the font. That was in mid-November, '11. They are a custom item. They still look as new.

Ok, anyone who would be interested in a group buy, please PM me with the color you would like and the max price you are willing to pay. I will check to see if we can set up a group buy. Thanks, ccantrell56.

Ordered for 2012 Genesis 5.0 (non R-Spec) from Korean Auto Imports for $206.95 use coupon code (RWD10) to get a 10% discount. Ordered in Black color with "R-Spec" lettering on the caliper covers.
When I ordered, I got a MyRewards.com coupon that gave me an additional 10% discount. Final price came out to $183.96. Very very happy! :)

Okay,

FINALLY got my covers on after four months of waiting for the weather to cooperate and for work to slow down a bit.

Took all of 25 minutes at my leisurely pace in my driveway (pneumatic tools in hand) to complete the installation.

Found out that the V-8 models rear clips did not fit so I called MGP and talked to John. John told me that the V-8 version rear clips should of worked but I told him that they are almost and inch wide and that the opening on my caliper is about 3/8 wide.

I asked that he send the V-6 rear caliper clips for me to try which he did without hesitation and they worked perfectly. Possible mix up during packaging?? Anyone else have this issue?

Thank you to John and MGP for these great looking covers. Great customer service. :D

Ben,
Any pics of the custom color caliper covers that have come thru your shop? I wanted to know what the Cabernet Red Pearl custom job would like.
