  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do you prefer the 2015+ Genesis over the previous generation?

Audi A7 is a hatch back. Completely different catagory

the fact that it is a hatchback is irrelevant. the body lines of the car, the shape of the trunk, and the grille resembles the A7. the way the rear of the car opens is unique on the Audi but hardly puts it in its own class.

a previous poster compared the Genesis to the S-class and E-class, and even the ford fusion.... I think the A7 is a more likely comparison in the looks department than some of these.

Hmm. LOL
Personally, I think it's funny. The "let me defend my purchase and discredit opinions" camps are always the bestest.

I was being facetious. I also said it was subjective, so don't quote one without the other. Believe me, its just as much fun for me. You have your opinion and defended it with the same vigor and candor that I did.

Genesis compared to A7 front, side, and rear. similarities are obvious. grille shape, side profile, and shape of the rear trunk.

don't forget the steering wheel, seats, and an engine.

two are visible in the first picture with respect to the Audi....I promise when I purchased my car it had all three.

I think its safe to assume the Audi is equipped with an engine as well.

I too would say the Genesis more closely resembles the A7 than it does a Fusion:

With the A7, the design language is very similar up to the B-pillar, and gradually diverges the further back you get on the car.

It's interesting to note that Hyundai actually has been heading towards this grill design since 2004:

The distinguishing difference is that the Fusion has a bumper portion dividing the grille, which is otherwise the same shape. ;)

:D Touche! You know I honestly never noticed that?

My previous comparison was intended to illustrate the similar styling cues of the Gen 1 and the '16 Mercedes S-Class.

The same team might have been used to design the BK2 coupes and the 2nd Genesis Sedans...both took a nose dive into the ugly pool.
For the same look and comparable features, just grab a Ford Fusion Platinum.

The Genesis does not look a Ford Fusion, unless you have poor eyesight... that comparison always cracks me up.

I mean it's all in the perspective of the viewer:

If you mean the same shape as the Genesis grill, then you better look again as they are NOT the same shape at all - the Fusion grille shape is very much like and Aston Martin Grill though...

I wonder if it has to do with cross-brand styling...hmmmm..

Meanwhile, on dealer lots...
