  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Connected Service

Right now my connected services app has stopped working. Just posts an error saying 'Car List 7999'. Was working prior to delivery and the day of but with travel I didn't have a need for it the few days after. Even logging in through the web portal shows no car associated with it, really odd. Tried to call the support line after work today and they are only open until 5pm EST through the week so yeah...
Stopped working yesterday morning for me. Informed my GXM with screenshots. Called them today and they informed me that my GXM had forwarded my issue to them yesterday and that it is a server side issue. Should be resolved soon.
Here's the funny thing, the Kia UVO system is identical. Same interface except for the colour. My wife mentioned that she used it to start the car yesterday and at said it did but the car didn't actually start. But no issues today!
The Genesis app on the other hand doesn't even login and the web portal doesn't either!

Ok good to know. Not a deal breaker but of course the one time Wednesday night when I did go to use it after a movie all this started. ;-). It's not so cold here they command start is even overly necessary but it'd be nice for my wife when she takesys on to school in the mornings to have the wheel warmer. I'll keep an eye on it and hit up Genesis earlier Monday if it's still busted.

Just checking:

- does everyone’s hazard lights go on after the car is started remotely and stay on until you get in the driver’s side and close the door? Seems to be the standard according to my service advisor but I asked him to see if it can be programmed to not flash. I hate that the car is calling attention to itself when I am not around.

- once the car is started, it shuts itself off if you open a door but do not enter? I cannot figure out exactly what causes it to shut off because sometimes it seems to be a minute after I have opened and closed the door (maybe just the rear?) and sometimes as soon as I close the door (front?).

Same thing here. First time I saw that I thought it was pretty strange.. I'm not sure about the shutting off part because I just get in a drive away...

Another interesting thing with the G70. If you are in drive, come to a stop and hit the engine stop button, it will automatically put the car in park. That's kinda cool!

Hmmmn, i’ll Have to try that. I still am not 100% comfortable with that park button. A few times already I have come to a stop and automatically pushed the gear lever forward to put it in park only to find the car rolling backwards because it’s in reverse.

Years of habit to push forward to park now needs to be broken and re-trained. Except I can’t completely break the habit because my other cars still have traditional PRNDL gear levers (although both are tiptronic while the G70 is not - yet another difference ...).

They all blink and we all complain about it. Nothing you can do.

If you open other than the driver's door first, the car will shut off. I cannot verify this as I've not done extensive testing, but it seems if you open the back door first it shuts off immediately. If you open front passenger, you do have limited time. I have to help my wife to get in at times and it will usually quit before I can get around.

My connected services came back online around midday I figure yesterday. I was just going to call them on a gap between meetings and I went to log in and my car was magically back in there. Wasn't working in the morning as I looked to see if I could start the car for the family heading off to school. Must have been a database thing.

Yeah it started working again. Genesis called me and left me a VM to tell me that the issue is sorted out and to call back if I have more issues.

Anyone in the US having the same issue as me that the vehicle status page doesn't display any info? I hit refresh and get an HT_537 error. I have a case number with GCS and they've been working on it for 7 calendar days now.

Remote start works fine, it is especially convenient with my Alexa in the mornings. I just tell her to start the car and it works. However only the app allows me to select the heated steering wheel and the defrost option smh.

^ works good for me

So just to confirm when you hit refresh here (see attached screen shot) it works perfectly for you?

Just confirming because vehicle health is a diff thing and that works fine for me too.

I know why...your car has not been setup. Did your salesperson get everything setup on their end? Once that is done...it will work.

I used to get that prior to my guy setting everything up.

I don't think so man. It's so annoying. But EVERYTHING else works. Including remote start and remote lock and all that. Just the vehicle status that gives me issues. Was that the same for you? Did the remote start not work for you?

If it is all setup...I would uninstall the App...restart your phone...reinstall the App.

Oh no...nothing worked. So looks like you are setup...and the app is f'd up.

I would uninstall the App...restart your phone...reinstall the App.

Is your car free of any obstructions? Remember it uses 3G to communicate.

Yeah I mean the remote start works flawlessly every time. Lock/unlock the whole thing. The guy that set me up had to have the back office do it and I suspect it may be causing the error. It's not the app becayse on the website I don't get the vehicle status like that either. This is all I see on the website:

Anyone actually using the Remote Services app regularly? I have a heated garage at home, so don't tend to even think about it. Yesterday however I was out here in Toronto (about -10 it seemed!) and decided it would be nice to warm up the car. I was about 3 blocks away, pulled my phone out of my pocket and literally I was at my car by the time I was even able to navigate to the Remote Start part of the app. Between the start up of the app (iPhone 8) and then trying to communicate with the car the lag time seems so extreme as to almost be unusable. Is it just me?

I do notice the communication with the car is so slow...3G. I'm sure it goes each way several times. To start the car...everything needs to be closed.

So...the app pings the car. Then waits for a reply...diagnostics check and everything closed...this could take a while. All good? You can send a start now. Start signal sent. Waits for a reply. I guess the car starts somewhere in there. Etc, etc.

Remember...you have a 3-point contact. Car...server...your app.

I would use it...but I garage my car...and do not have anything automated to open my garage. Even if I did...opening the garage lets so much cold in...that I would not want it open :( So cold mornings are out for me.

Only time I would use it is if car has been standing outside a while. Office...airport parking...out for dinner...at the mall for a while, etc.
