  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Owners: What vehicle did your Genesis replace?

Replaced a 2007 Veracruz Ltd. with the 2012 Genesis Sedan. Veracruz had 70,000 miles, never in shop except for service.

C6 Corvette, 6 speed.

Genesis is a bit different.... actually has a back seat :)

I bought yesterday 2011 Genesis 4.6 with Technology package and traded in 2008 Azera Limited.

2004 PONTIAC SUNFLOWER 2DOOR ,,, YA BIG STEP UP:cool:

My 2011 4.6 replaced a 2000 Mazda Protege ES (original owner) that was fun to drive and had perfect reliability. I wanted more room and some POWER but unfortunately Mazda doesn't have any comparable cars :-(

Just bought a 2012 Genesis 3.8 sedan and traded my 2011 Sonata Limited.

Really liked everything about the Sonata except for the highway road noise on long trips. Around town the noise levels weren't too bad. However this was in sharp contrast to our other vehicles, a 2010 Hyundai Vera Cruz Limited and a 2007 Hyundai Entourage van that ride very quiet.

So after two years in the Sonata I heeded the call to upgrade to a Genesis and glad I did. Made my wife very happy too!

Did the same exact thing. Had a 2011 Sonata Limited. Thought it could use a tad more refinement, so picked up a 2012 V-6. Had the Sonata for right around 2 years or so.

I went from a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer SS to my 4.6 sedan. No regrets thus far. Although i do want another tbss in the future for a track vehicle:D

2005 Altima SE-R (Intake, downpipe, pulley): 103k miles, 6 speed manual.
It was difficult for me to get rid of this car! I bought it new in 05 and it always gave me what I asked of it. NEVER changed the pads, rotors or clutch.
She was pretty quick (260 stock hp) but being front wheel drive took some of the fun out of it.

I was going to get the Genesis coupe but they didn't have any when I started looking back in Aug. The salesman then introduced me to the R Spec sedan. The rest is history.

2000 Nissan Maxima GLE. Had 160,000 miles. Good car overall, really enjoying new Genesis. I liked the body style of the new Maxima but the interior did not have great visibility. I drove a new Maxima for a few days and overall it is a good car, but like the Genesis better. The Genesis feels like a better built car overall than the Maxima in my opinion.

I just replaced my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with a 2011 Genesis 3.8 Sedan. The Pontiac had about 57k on it when I bought it in November 2005 and I traded it in with about 157k in January 2013. 100,000 miles in an American, union-built car with no warranty is an experience I do not wish to repeat!

This is my first Hyundai and really only the second vehicle I've purchased for myself. Prior to the Pontiac were the hand-me-down '89 Crown Victoria station wagon (I loved it) and a 1990 Toyota Celica GT-S that my mom kinda got for me; it was OK.

I didn't think I was a brand guy but whenever I see the Hyundai emblem on the trunk I think a pair of wings might look better...
