  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

With all the rebadging going on, has anyone gone so far as to rebadge the key fob? What does the fob look like in Korea?

That would be cool! I haven't seen any yet though.

Someone on this forum dug the flying H out of his key fob, but I don't know what one would replace it with. ;) I wonder if anyone has taken all the flying H decals off the windows. There are two or three I think. Now the safety glass is not a decal is it? That can't be removed. If I am wrong let me know and I'll buy a package of single edge blades:D

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Where can this be obtained?

I was on a trip to Korea last week, and tried contacting local lock smiths to see if they had any of them in stock.
No luck..
Called Hyundai service center and they said it'll run north of $150 for a replacement, and that's NOT including the key.
The website I found that picture from sells the fob for about $60 which seems like the best option.

Not sure if it's just the plastic cover that can be replaced or if it requires a complete reprogramming of the key.

Also found out that Korean Hyundai dealers started to hand out leather skins for the fobs.
In the picture, you can see a different version of the Korean Genesis key fob.

Bought the leather skin for about $38 while I was there. :D

Can you provide the web address for the $60 FOB. Thanks.

I guess I am the one owner with no rebadging intentions.

I am really surprised by the results of this poll. How is Hyundai going to build a reputation as a luxury brand, if all the luxury cars sold are "cloaked"? Does this also mean if asked the question directly, would you avoid saying it is a Hyundai?

Everyone I have spoke to in my local area since getting this car is impressed with the leap forward Hyundai has made in quality and design of vehicle offerings. I think Hyundai should get some recognition for that.

Not saying everyone should adjust to my point of view, but was still amazed at the number of people rebadging.
Think Lexus and Toyota.... "Lexus began as the G1 project in 1983. Toyota attempted to challenge itself to build a luxury vehicle that would effectively compete with international luxury automobiles."

LOL, Pingg! I had that very thing happen to me Saturday. This Malibu pulled up behind me on US 17, four-lane, and everyone in the car was looking. Then the driver pulled around quickly and had obviously told everyone on the right-hand side of the car to look at the hood emblem and tell he who made this car. They were very puzzled and nearly freaked out craning their necks to get NOTHING from the front of the car!

I have the steering wheel, trunk lid and wheel covers re-badged. I guess I like the lines of the front just as they are. ;)

That's funny and I can relate. I have my Genesis rebadged, all except the hood. It looks fantastic! I too have noticed people 'looking' and wondering, and several have stopped me in the parking lot asking "What is that??" followed by S-SWWWW-E-E-E-E-TT! (Heard the SWEET comment 3 times already). Makes me smile.

Love the rebadged look, love the wings, and proud to say it's a HYUNDAI.

I guess I misunderstood your message. The link you provided points to the leather case for $50.00. Is this what you meant?

I responded to his message because I have seen them on ebay for $50. If you want you can wait for the other member to put up a link to the $60 dollar place if you prefer. :D

What I was hoping for was a link to an an actual "Genesis" key fob, not a leather case.

The Hyundai Logo is on the removable part of the fob; however, I believe your personal car transmitter ID is on the back of it. I think you may be able to order the part somehow from korea...

I am rebadging also. Have done the trunk, wheels and steering wheel cover. In all honesty there are a few here who did not like the non V8 wheel caps on the V8 wheels, personally I think they look killer. :D Have the hood emblem on order and will also do something a little different. I will be moving the name Genesis from the right side to the left side and putting a V8 emblem on the right side. Will also be putting V8 emblems behind both front wheels on each side. Pics to come when I receive my stuff in probably a week or so. Love this stick on stuff, so easy to change if you don't like it or if you want to bring it back to stock. :D Link to V8 emblems on order. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260568701683#ht_898wt_941

I like your style. Just make sure the car doesn't have to much text on it. The rear wing has the name "genesis" so you might consider taking the text and 4.6 off and replacing with "V8"? Completely up to you obviously.... Let us know how it looks.

I was thinking the same way and have not yet made the decision if the Genesis lettering is going back on. The 4.6 is definitely coming off. I will start with just the V8 emblem on the right hand side and see how it looks.

I always liked the look of the Mercedes with the V8/12 emblem behind the front wheel.:D Not that I need to copy Benz since my fun car is a Mercedes SL. :D Only differance is it is my summer car only. Kinda drive it like you would a Harley. On sunny days with the top down mostly. :)

I took it all off, you have to read the etching on the glass to find out. Only problem is when I come back there are gresy marks on the windows from all the people trying to see inside. :D

Agree with most need to let folks know its quality but the wings just look sexy. Black cashmere leather 2010 V8 TECH PACKAGE.

I guess I'm the only guy out there who thinks it was a mistake for the Genesis to be sold by Hyundai dealers. They should have started their own division like Acura, Lexus and Infinity. I think they will see the error of their ways and stand alone. I have never dealt with a bigger bunch of morons than the numerous Hyundai sales people I encountered when trying to buy a Genesis that they didn't happen to have in inventory.
