  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Magnaflow Cat-back Exhaust for the R-Spec

Yea - a bit easier to chirp the tires. Sound 100% better with cat deletes. Way too tame with just the magnaflows. I didn't really get on it that much in the parking lot - the harder you stomp on it the more it rumbles. Sweet, sweet music!

Nice. Didn't order the cat deletes yet. Hopefully have time to install my catback this week.

Order them up! Sound wise it's way better with the cat deletes - as soon as you install the exhaust you will want em.

Based on your review I expect to.

Tanya and Sonya (I think she's Russian) posing together. Also pics of the de-badged trunk.

Like the third video especially.. Appreciate the effort. Any drone at steady cruise (including going up hills) between 55-90? I ask because that is much if my driving (steady highway cruising).

The sound is amazing.

Where did you get the cat deletes at ?

Sounds great and "I love it "

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Very minimal drone - gets a little better after the cat deletes go on - not sure why this is.

This is great news. I would hate to get the catback only to find that the deletes make the drone over the top.

Sounds great! It is a bit more quiet and tame than I expected (good), especially with the cat deletes thrown on. This system sounds perfect for this car in my opinion.

In another thread I heard Scott say the stock exhaust was built with quality stainless and likely would outlast the car. Do you or anyone else know if this is true for all Genesis models? If true, it makes me want to swap out my mufflers and do the cat deletes on the stock exhaust. However, the weight loss is probably worth a few pounds if you do the whole thing. I wish they offered this system (with resonators) for a 2011 4.6.

Thanks for sharing the vids.

wow very quiet. it has just a hint of sportiness. factory is whisper silent. I like it. In fact mine has already been shipped :)

PS does taking the cats off mess up your warranty?

The two Magnaflow Genesis models look identically shaped except for the tips (the 2012+ one with the resonators has no tips because of the integrated bumper tips on the 2012+). I would think you could still mount it on your 2011 and then put your own tips on it. Probably what I would try anyways.

No (see link below), but it may have trouble (very small chance) passing inspection if you were to sell it out of state. Not many people would know it's missing one pair of the cats if they got under it.

I think the second set of cats is there to clean up the exhaust on cold starts. But I think once warmed up the header mounted cats would allow you to pass a sniff test. In Florida we abandoned inspections. The lines were awful

Yes, those are the ones. Make sure you get the V8 sedan deletes.

It is easy to r&r the rear cats, even for a fat 73 year old geezer like me. If you go for the cat delete pipes, retain the cats for reinstalling on resale. Don't discard them.
An installation trick for the cat deletes: The cats sit very tight in the exhaust system even when unbolted. You have to shove the exhaust system rearward to remove the unbolted cats, and this is very hard to do laying on your back underneath your car. However, if you unbolt the exhaust at the rear of the central resonator, then you can easily move this section back so as to release the unbolted cats.

will upload short ram intake pics today, would show videos too, but unfortuneately the wife hit a curb and damaged one of the tires, so ordered a new one be here tomorrow so vids will come after that.

Frank - did you buy one from Driv200 or DIY?
