  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well, luckily since I was getting my motor installed I did not have to drive in last weeks blast of crap the south metro got.

I have brand new tires, A/S 3s and my neighborhood roads are sheer ice. It sucks when I'm trying to get moving, but once I am it rolls and turns fine. The freeways are good IMO.

I am getting blizzaks next winter and when the Michelins are dead I will upgrade my wheels to 20" and keep the 18s for winter.

I would love to get your opinion on the A/S 3s - not for winter driving - but hopefully after you've had some time with them in the spring. My ContiPro 19s will be done probably by the end of summer.

Anybody going to the Minneapolis Auto Show?

Anybody going to the Minneapolis Auto Show?

Yup! Every year:) Usually go with my wife and another couple. Looking forward to it this year. Hopefully I don't act like a fool and buy a new Jag, WRX, or AMG:D

My goal for the next meet is to have fully installed the R Spec suspension, and the new rigid collars in my car. Can't wait!

Saw a black Genny, pre '12 with a front wing badge. at the intersection of 494 and Pilot Knob today at 1PM.

Any of you guys?

Not sure I saw this post when I joined a few years ago. Just traded my 2011 4.6 Tech for a 2014 R-Spec. Impressed at the refinements in the car in 3 model years!

You'll find me in the SW Metro area...

Welcome to the R-Spec family. I'm in Prior Lake in a black 2012 that I enjoy as much as I did 2 1/2 years ago when it was new.

Thanks - was absolutely blown-away when I picked up the 2011 4.6 Tech back in the summer of 2011.

I feel the same way all over again with the 2014 R-Spec.

I traded a 2006 Pontiac GTO for my 2011 Genesis. There were many times I missed the power and performance of the 440+HP my GTO put-down. Finally, I no longer miss the GTO - this R-Spec has the same feeling power with a slightly better (softer) ride.

The only thing I contemplate with this car is headers/exhaust. I really want more grunt, but at the same time, I very much enjoy the uber-quiet ride and interior. Any header/exhaust upgrade would likely ruin that.

One of our other MN members, Scottdk, has done some exhaust work on his 4.6, which I have ridden in. It's still very civilized. There are plenty of posts here about exhaust work with V6 and V8s, down pipes, cat backs and muffler-only mods.

Welcome, I am in the Lakeville area. which is quite expansive.

I have been debating doing some exhaust mods along with dynamat to eliminate drone without having to use specialty parts. Killing two birds really because this car rattles like crazy with whats in the back.

THE GREAT MINNESOTA MEET UP

Hey everyone, it's time to start planning for the Second Annual Great Minnesota Genesis Owners Meet Up. Last time was fun. All three of us missed the thousands that couldn't fit it into their schedules. :D

So picture three clean black Gennys  (a 2009, 2011 and 2012) parked next to each other in a north metro parking lot. We took some rides, compared cars, and swapped some mods ideas.

August will be best for me - anywhere in the metro area is fine, as long as there is plenty of parking (and perhaps a place close by to get food and a brewski).

Respond if you're interested.

:grouphug:

I'm in as usual. I'm open on location.

I will be the fourth. But mine is silver so I may not fit in quite as well.

I'm open to location and anytime usually works. I have weddings coming up in August so Saturdays for me are booked. Saturdays in general for me are usually difficult before 4pm.

I have seen a white and black 2012+ in Apple Valley. They both seem like nice guys who wave and smile as we roll past each other. Unfortunately it seems there are not a lot of members from MN on here.

Wherever we meet I just hope a good beer and a slice (or burger) are around. Red Cow or Pizzaria Lola anyone? Psycho Suzi's is great too with there new(er) location. But parking and neighborhood leave something to be desired.

So far so great with my tyres. In my parking lot at work which is black top they do not make any noise yet, and everyone's tyres in my lot make noise when turning at any speed.

They grip very well but I am concerned about longevity. The tyres are 6 months old and without being a moronic driver I manage to have just above 5.5mm (7/32) in the back and 7mm (9/32) in the front (rotating them tomorrow with the oil change).

This may be due to the sub box in the back or maybe not but from a stand still, if I mash on the gas they do not chirp until I get to the 4,500 range having 1/3rd tank of petrol.

I will have to take out that box and see, but my guess is that's not the case. A full tank of petrol would weigh more than my subwoofers.

Thanks for the follow up on the tires. I'm guessing I'll be ready next spring after I do another winter cycle with the winter setup.
