If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The OFFICIAL Air Suspension Thread

i'm running the d2 bags which are almost identical in every way to the air force bags. It's all in how you set them up. If you elongate the shock body up front and air it all the way up you could have tons of clearence but you're going to limit how low you'll be when you air out. You're also going to have to make a ride comfort compromise most likely.

The correct way is to find the ideal "spring rate" for your setup by driving around with the front shock body set too high and air up and down until the car handles the way you want. You then dial the shock body in at that air pressure to achieve the look you want for your "driving" preset. From there you can air up and down to see what you're going to get. The rear in these cars isn't going to have that type of adjustment because of the bag and shock being separated.

Just for reference my drive around settings are 86-90 psi in the front and 65-70 in the rear. This both looks great and rides better than stock. I'll post a vid of my car maxed out ride height wise. I can clear any speed bump or shitty driveway i need to.

gorgeous... Thing of beauty

Air'd all the way up to all the way down. (Video)

All lit up.

On the ground!

thanks for the response! im looking around to see what brand i should go with for bags. im absolutely going with accuair for management. how low i go when i air out isnt really as much important as being able to drive with my lip. the lowest ill set it to is when my lip is on the ground, keeping the car itself level, so it doesnt look like the back is lower than the front.

i love your setup. great job!

What type of spray is that on the trunk cutout? Almost looks like Rhino Lining. Whatever was applied looks really good. Do you plan on covering up the rear section of the trunk? I see that black Styrofoam cover of the fuel tank access panel.

Did you ever say what your wheels specs were?

Thanks! The trunk floor is essentially just bed liner. My buddy owns a road case shop and sprayed it for me. It's the 2 part stuff thats heated. The foam access panel is also sprayed with the same stuff so it matches. The wheels are 19x10 +30 and 19x8.5 +20. I wish I had gone more aggressive up front but the rears are perfect.

those of you with the accuair e-level system.. do i need to make brackets to attach the leveling sensors to the car? how do i actually mount the sensors to the car? any specific mounting points? appreciate any help.

thanks xiaphin. im just gathering the last bits of info before i do the install in 2 weeks.

Hey everyone this is my first post.
I got my 2013 genesis a couple months ago jus ordered my wheels and d2 air suspsension with the vera evo air management. I've looked through this thread and my only real question is what 12v acc source did everyone tap into for their tank pressure switch and Illumination for their gauges? Any help will be appreciated.

Here are some pics of my build so far.

Making a template out of cardboard for the base in the spare tire well.

Cut out in wood.

Here's the new MDF floor with hinged "wings". This will eventually have a plexi viewing window with a plug.

"Wings" folded in.

This is probably the layout I'm going to go with. I think I would build walls to hide the compressor and the battery and also give me room to mount the relays and fuses.

What power wires did you tap into for your tank pressure switch.

tapped into the lighter and the illumination light for the lighter. worked for me. idk if theres an easier spot for coupe though since i have the sedan.

also a few images after i bagged it and installed the front lip.
kind of proud of myself since i have never done anything this technical.
ive gone from installing drop springs on my evo, to installing coilovers on my genesis, to then going to air suspension.
anyone can do it. probably spent 150 hours on it, working alone.

So you used your lighter for your pressure switch? And I have a sedan also sorry I didn't put that in the first post. I'm confident in installed everything as far as bags go and running airline it's jus wiring that has always eluded me haha.

Its been so long since mine was installed I can't remember what I connected to or what all was ran to the front of the car. Found a few pictures when I did the wiring and appears that 2 wires were ran up to the front. 12v ignition and illumination are my guesses. A blue wire that is part of the center console harness was tapped into for the 12v ignition source, I think. Illumination either comes from the light that is in the ash tray or cigarette lighter. You can kind of see in the attached images. They were all here but Photobucket disabled third party hosting.

All my images are still here

I know this is an old post but I’m hoping that someone can answer a few questions for me. First is how is the ride quality with air suspension? I haven’t really thought to much about altering suspension due to worry about crappy ride. Use the genesis for longer road trips with the family. Also what is a round about price for all parts needed?

Ride if pretty close to stock most come with 32 way adjustable damper to tune the ride quality in. If you have never owned lowered cars then it may not be for you. Cost varies on the kit. If you go full force and get the blue tooth wireless controller with wheel sensor at every corner and auto leveling etc etc... then your looking at 4k maybe more and you can get as cheap as prob 1900-2k for a manual valve kit. I spent 2600 on mine and got electric valves lcd gauge sensors for tank pressure and front and rear pressure. It was the cheapest kit I found that was electric valve with gauge and switches. It's the d2/vera kit.

The ride on mine is softer than stock setup on the 2010's, also have the V6 model which could make a difference. My dampers are set in the middle and I have never adjusted them. The ride quality can be adjusted by either raising / lowering the collars on the strut, which changes how much air pressure is required for given ride heights. Essentially you are adjusting the "pre-load", for lack of a better term, on the bag. If you have ever had coilovers think of the bag as the spring.

Cost varies like Mr Bonez says. When I put mine together years ago Air Force Suspension was the only company that made a kit. Didn't use their management (went with Accuair eLevel/iLevel instead) but am still running the first version of their struts and bags, sleeve up front and double bellows in the rear. The new kits are running double bellows both front an rear which is a better design. Accuair offers the same kit but is anodized a different color. Probably spent about 5k on it with all the options I went with and that is doing everything myself.

Thought about going bag over coil with UAS bags but there were limited options out at the time. There may be some kits like this out now but I haven't looked at this stuff in years.

The ride now with my D2 setup is slightly softer. I can definitely tell the difference now vs stock.

See you used the ashtray for your LCD gauge as well. Looks like it was made to go there. I couldn't really find a better place for my unit either.

You'll find that you will bottom out the top of the FUCA on the underside of the engine bay. Others have cut that area out to go lower, I just have some nice big notches/dents from some hits over the years.

Nice floor mats, need some VIP curtains to go with them? I took my beige JP Curtains off a while back and have been meaning to sell them.

Yeah that was my biggest issue was tryin to find a spot for my LCD screen And switches. But that spot worked out perfect for both super happy with how it came out.

I keep meaning to notch those holes so my fuca's don't hit them when I hit a good bump jus haven't gotten around to it. I have vip curtains I Juan don't I now if I can bring myself to 3m tape the rails to panels.
