If they did not ask me beforehand, color me PISSED OFF!took my 2015 G to dealer for oil change on 5/21/2015 with 8,622 miles on odometer. They replaced all 4 Hankooks with 4 new Michelins. No explanation, no charge.

Just took delivery of my 2015 Genesis 3.8 RWD Ultimate last night. Car shows manufacture date of March 2015. After reading so many posts on the tire issues with the Hankook's, I was pleasantly surprised to see my car delivered with Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires already on the car. Not sure if this is the new OEM plan, but at least I won't have to worry about all the issues discussed on this forum with the tires...at least I hope not to have any problems with the Michelin's.
I personally found the Hankooks to be the most quite tires I’ve owned so far providing the pressure is correct and there is no alignment problems. I did have the tires replaced as per existing tire campaign replacement. While the new Michelins are good tires they are not as finely attuned to the characteristics of the new Genesis suspension. That said I found them to be a bit nosier and provide a harsher ride. Surely not a ground shaking difference but never the less noticeable.
Not to burst your bubble but here’s an entry you might have missed.
I had my tires replaced this past Saturday. I noticed a downgrade in the ride quality but thought I would let it play out over the weekend. On my way to work this morning it was still the same - the best way I can explain it is that every crack in the road was pronounced. So I put the tire pressure monitor screen on, and noticed that the tires were at 39 psi. I know the other tires were right around 33 or 34 psi. I checked the sticker on the drivers door sill area, and that says the tires should be 33. So I went back in and had them adjust down to 35 psi for now. I noticed an improvement right away. Not sure why they would inflate them so high. Does anyone know of a reason why the tires would need to be at 39 psi? I received the Michelins since I have the V6.
If the Gennys are now being delivered with the Michelins, it might be a good idea for us with Hankooks to stop by a dealer and take a test drive before making the switch. And be sure the tires have the correct pressure, verified on the instrument screen. Go with a friend and leave your Genesis at home...lol!

My question is after you reduced the pressure on the Michelins how did the ride compare to the Hankooks. I did find the Hankooks a little noisy on certain surfaces.
I'm concerned about switching from an ultra high performance tire to a touring tire if I'm not getting a ride benefit.
Is the the correct pressure for the Michelins as well as the original tires?
I would say now that the psi is back down to 33/34 the ride is pretty comparable to the Hancooks, however it might be slightly stiffer. It was awful at 39 psi, but now it's fine. I would take the very slight stiffer ride to the extreme flat spotting I was getting.
