Siri is fine, and the Google from the mirror button is not too bad. So far using anything from the normal VR button on the steering wheel is brain dead.

I understand the VR is not expected to be perfect, but my 2011 Sonata and 2013 Azera did much better recognizing both contacts and NAV commands.

These things are supposed to get better with newer and higher end models, not worse.

Yup, the VR works much better in the Gen 1 Genesis too. That's the car with the sophisticated/adult wing badge.

But, alas, with the Gen 2 you get the much better Google search and Siri Eyes Free - so there is really no need to use the Hyundai VR. The more sleek and modern wing badge is just icing on the cake.

Not being fond of Chrysler badge imitations, the classic, adult, Genesis badge works best for me. I don't use VR much, except for phone calls. For most other things I use the Zoom feature on the Nav screen.

What was I thinking? I forgot the G2 wings look identical to the Chrysler wings... uhhhh...OK, if you say so:

And we've already established that you don't care about map detail level - so no need to rehash your love of zooming here

Not really - G2 is a little more sleek/modern design tweak.

That helps -G1 had upswept wings.
I assume that all of these are aftermarket anyway... cars came with the "H"

Yes - all NA cars come with the rear H. The 2015/2016 Genesis come with the front wings. The rear wings are OEM for the KDM Genesis (Korean home market car). They can be bought through this site or various eBay resellers.

Dislikes: Sun roof rattle, non luxury experience at the dealer, the plastic over the instrument cluster panel isn't very clear, cooled seats aren't very strong.

and one more (major), the trunk pops open easily if the key fob gets any pressure on it, I have come out to my car in the morning many times with the trunk open all night!

Very risky if your trunk is full of goodies and your car is out of sight. I often have a trunk-full of photo gear. It scares me to have the car out of sight at a restaurant hoping I don't come out to find that my trunk has been standing open like a grab bag. We once spent the night in a motel on the fourth floor and woke up in the morning to find that the trunk had been opened sometime during our stay. Fortunately, all of our gear was in the room with us or it could have been a very costly discovery.

right now I dislike that my genesis is still in the body shop - apparently both times new rear quarters were ordered they arrived damaged.

I mean it is fun driving the Integra TypeR daily but I do miss my Genesis :-(

It'll be interesting when you get back in yours. I actually had the dealership check the power steering effort on my G1 in a parking lot. I had just gotten used to the over-boosted steering feel in the rental I had for almost a month.

only had it for less than a week, but my only dislike is the lack of android auto to use my google maps with traffic from my phone, without a dock.
this car is brilliant. so much fun to drive, everything inside is beautiful and top notch. i think maybe i'm just out of touch with luxury car buyers, but this is the best car i've ever been inside of.
