  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis "Likes":

My "like" is the rear cross traffic alert yesterday. I was backing out of my driveway and apparently the oncoming car was pacing itself perfectly with the B-pillar/headrest blind spot from my particular vantage point as I backed up. Saved my ass and theirs.

Likes:
1: comfortable seats
2: great audio
3. Quiet cabin
4. Great heads up display

I have only had my car for a couple of weeks, but i am coming from a 2005 Pontiac GTO. Obviously the differences are huge between these two cars. 2015 3.8 RWD Ultimate. I have never owned a car this nice before. The GTO only had a TCS button, and that was about it. The Genesis is just oozing with features (and its already 4 /5 years old). Seems like i find a new feature every day, especially after reading through this entire thread. So far, i couldn't be happier with my choice. Hyundai did a great job with this vehicle and i really hope to keep it for quite some time.

Congrats Second, I hope she gives you years of enjoyment and happy trails. (y)

Funny, I went zippin' into the garage at work this morn and gave a quick horn tap to our top sales broker as he was exiting his newly leased F-Pace SVR, and not ~30 minutes later he comes into my office and says "That's quite the sharp looker you're driving there, very nice!" I just smiled and said, "I know."

Nothing like positive reinforcement. I enjoy that our Genny's are still just rare enough to make certain people ponder "What is that?"

LOL. One my coworkers saw me drive by her in my 2015 Genesis in the parking garage at work and she thought that I bought an new Audi. She asked me did I get a raise or something. I told her it was a Hyundai and she said stop lying. It was funny enough to be used in a Hyundai car commercial.

My parents, wife and me went on shoping trip(140 mile round trip). Wife gets motion sickness so she drove with mom up front. Dad(6 foot 2) and me (six one) sit in back. Dad told me “ man this car is nice, comfortable , smooth and quiet.” I looked over and seen him sneak a nap in on the way back to his place.

I had someone in a trendy hotel valet line ask if it was the new Aston Martin 4 dr... The "deer in the headlight" look that I got from her when I said it was a Genesis was priceless....!

Perhaps a silly one, but the windshield washers. My Audi had these little ball-socket jets on each side that shot up (and over!) my car. They were a pain to try and adjust with a pin and get an acceptable trajectory. I was pretty happy the first time I went to use it in the Genesis and got a perfect mist over the windshield (and no longer firing beams of washer fluid at the car behind me). It's the little things!

More realistically though:
- 17 speaker system is quite capable even by audiophile standards
- Ivory leather cleans up really well and any stretch marks go away after some leather conditioner + heat, still looks good as new
- Ride quality is smooth as butter
- Sometimes I get comments about my "Bentley" and I feel rich for a moment
- HUD doesn't feel gimmicky and shows everything I could ask for, everyone who's driven it now wants one

I like how simple it is to perform maintenance on the 2015 Genesis 5.0. The car is well engineered even for upkeep and repairs unlike some other luxury cars makes. As of yet, the Genesis has not required any special tools to perform engine, differential, or transmission oil changes.

Therefore, it seems like the 5.0 TAU engine is made to last a long time with maintenance requirements that an average owner can do themselves. Even the timing chain seems pretty easy to get with the engine still in the car to compared other V8 sedan models that require an engine to be removed to access the timing chain.

I have owned a few of European models cars(VW,Volvo, Mercedes) and a lot of Asian models(KIA,Lexus,Nissan,Toyota,Infiniti, Mazda) over the years, and this car has been the easiest to maintain so far. Hell, even the 2014 KIA Optima SXL required a special EPB scan tool and special socket to disengage the electronic rear parking brake for pad service. However, the Genesis does not need any special tools for the brake job even though it does have EPB.

I really like that my Genesis have a V8 engine that can use 87 octane without any risk of engine damage; which come it handy when there is a cuurent gas shortage in your area; currently like in the Atlanta area. Now I can just buy any octane of fuel that is available.

I remember owning my 2002 Mercedes E55 AMG back in 2008 or 2009 when Atlanta had an previous fuel availability crisis like the current one and how it stressed me out when I had to use 87 octane and needed a bottle of octane booster for a tank of gas. I picked up one of the last remaining bottles of octane booster in the auto parts store since many other luxury car owners was doing the same thing to save their premium only fuel engines. Some had to run the premium engine on regular until the gas supply stabilized.

The current fuel crisis in my area is not as stressful since I can use any octane in my Genesis.

I like that the mirrors automatically open when I approach the car.
I can’t count how many times I drove off in my 2013 Equus with the mirrors still folded in. Lol

Six years on, and I still think it looks great. Some cars just age well, and this is one of them.View attachment 36981
Love that Blue! I was looking for that color with white leather. But I couldn't find it in a 5.0 Ultimate and the deal that I got on my Empire State Grey, 5.0 Ultimate was too good to pass up.... I agree - the design is aging well.

Looks good.

I love that this model body style was used until 2020, so my 2015 stills looks like it is only about 1 year old when clean. Especially since I removed my rear "GENESIS" trunk badging and only left the 5.0 badge.

I've got to say, my "likes" for my 2016 Ultimate in Montecito Blue are, pretty much everything mentioned in the many, many pages of this thread. PLUS, the very existence of this thread to begin with! I've read every post, and frequently run out to my car and go, "WOW!" mine does that too! :) Because of this thread, I've got music on my jukebox, know how to rewind my SXM, can hang grocery bags and my umbrella in the trunk, and don't worry about my high beams anymore at night. Among many other things. Coming from a 2012 Genny, I think these two cars are my favorites in 45 years of owning cars, with my 2016 topping them all. I've owned 3 Cadillacs, 2 Chryslers, an Imperial, a BMW 740 iL, and now 4 Korean luxury cars in a row. Amazed every time I get into this one.

Maybe it's just because I've never had a nice car before this one but I can't think of anything I even dislike about it, it's all so comfortable. The biggest like for me, weirdly enough, is the CD player!

Yup, that CD player is very important. Old tech, but my wife loves & collects CDs. Has easily 3000+. Can't even get them as an option on most new cars.

Man. I love this car handling and power.

I took a trip to the airport which required riding on a congested highway even on a Sunday. This car carved a path without any issues and passed other drivers effortlessly even at 80+mph to make the flight on time. Atlanta drivers use 80mph as the normal rate of speed on that part of the highway heading to the airport; a driver moving slower is asking for trouble.

The whole time the passengers did not even get tossed around since the ride was very smooth and composed like driving about 50mph. This car rides like a S-class, but handles like an BMW 5 series. Damn nice car. Hyundai engineers did a great job on this model chassis tuning. This will be hard car to replace even if I get tired of it.:)

Know what you mean... I took this thing out to West Texas a few months ago. The 5.0 just loafs along @ 90-100 all day long!
