If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis "Likes":

Alwaysforward: Thanks for the write up. I too am still on the fence about exterior color, so your (4) dealership experiences was interesting & helpful. I am STILL waiting to see an Ibiza in person. None in Houston yet. It's taking forever. I really love the beige interior. I get tempted to do black or white for the beige interior. (then I think about the cleaning required to make the black pop)

I'm so confused... I change my mind daily. Ugh... one day this will be over. ;)

Your welcome HEY GURL. I was on the fence too, hence our road trip to multiple dealers. I have seen the Ibiza Blue months ago and it was too bright for my liking. Nice color, but not what I was looking for. The other issue with the Ibiza Blue exterior is that it only comes with the Ivory Interior. I like to have more options on the interior even though I have already checked the box and will except any interior color.

If I wasn't in a hurry, my choice would be the Montecito Blue with Beige Interior (5.0 Ultimate no matter what color combo). The Gray interior would be my second choice being that we live in South Florida and the heat with the black seats pose an issue. But then you have the auto start feature so the black isn't that bad because you can have the car cooled down before you get in. Hence the reason of allowing that color choice as an option. Ivory really isn't white in color, more of a cream color and is not much lighter than the beige. Both Beige & Ivory would be the hardest interior colors to keep clean but you have to clean all interiors anyway so it is no more work than any other color. At least you have cleaners and conditioners now that you can put on leather to help it stay in good condition.

The more options you give yourself, the better chances of finding the car sooner. One thing you will notice when you start looking at all the color options (in person) is that you will find out you like them all :D. Each color has it's own effect on how the car looks. Whether you see them in sunlight or in a showroom. Each lighting tends to bring out different effects of the body style that is hard to describe unless you see it in person.

Good luck in your hunt. Can't wait to finally own one. Should be only a couple of weeks away now to be able to pull the trigger on one.

Yup - for sure! :)

No one has mentioned as a "like" the giant moon roof. When I take my 2011 to the dealer for service and look at the 2015, it is about the first thing the sales people brag on. I don't even use the regular-size one on my Genny, and I wish I didn't have to pay for one when I buy my new 2015.
I think they appeal to young folks--not this old geezer.

I gotta say I enjoy mine much more than the previous design. It's much quieter and creates a lot less turbulence.

This old geezer (82) has found that I can keep the shade open, even in Texas summer, and there is very difference in heat than in keeping it closed. I like the airy feel with it open. The tinted glass really rejects a lot of heat.

That was not true on my 2009. The much smaller sun roof on that car let in a lot of heat and I kept the shade open only in the cool months.

That said, I seldom open the roof, but I really like the feeling with the shade open. I just now drove home at 96 degrees with the shade open.

For me, these panoramic roofs are more about "opening up" the cabin then driving with the roof open. Expanding the window area can make a cabin seem larger and more roomy, even if you never open the roof. If it is good at tempering the heat, even better.

Love the low fuel warning. Not only do you get the standard gas pump orange light but also a caution light and the standard low fuel warning in between the gauges which is impossible to miss. What really was cool is the mega size low fuel warning on the nav screen which asks you if you want to find a gas station close by, by selecting yes or no is how you get rid of this screen. I answered yes by touching the touch screen and a list of all station near me came up.

Nice, does the "miles remaining" reading go from 30 to --/-- ? That's how the Elantra and Azera behave (I think the Sonata too, but I'm not sure on that one).

Not that I plan to get that low. This is a 20 gallon tank, and I plan on filling up at 1/3 tank remaining to avoid price shock at the pump!

Has anyone seen the plastic grocery bag holder in the trunk? Its a piece of plastic shaped like a small boat anchor that you pull down. Its in the center of the inside trunk right under the top lip. Pull it down and you can hang your plastic grocery bags from it.. way too cool. :)

The car is so tight that I often have to reclose the driver's door and my wife almost never gets her door closed the first time if mine is already closed.
Many years ago, I had a VW Beetle like that. Had to slam the door shut. In fact, the damn car was so air-tight that it could float for a considerable amount of time. Unfortunately, it had a 1200cc air-cooled engine that only generated 36 horsepower.

Yes, I noticed that and was curious what it was for. Now I know, but have to say I'd prefer a vertically mounted cargo net like my Azera had. Hmm... I wonder if that's an option?

Yeah just think about that. Somebody somewhere had to justify why they thought that position of the net was better and why. It’s a good thing it wasn’t me they were suggesting to.
The first Gen cars were all vertical nets.

You can always buy the net, but you have no where to hook the loops for the vertical net.

I liked the net in my 2009 better than the 2015.

You can always buy some footman's loops and install them at appropriate places in the trunk with screws as places to hook the net.

Maybe. I had a 2013 Azera that did not include the cargo net when purchased, so I bought the OEM part afterward on ebay, which came with the mounting hardware. The mounting hardware is nothing more than plastic plugs with "T" tops that the net hooks into. They replace the existing flat plugs already present in the trunk. The Genesis has plugs in the same approximate locations, but without making the attempt, I have no way of knowing if they are properly spaced and will actually work for a vertical cargo net installation. Perhaps in the future, I'll buy a net and take a crack at it.

When you want a more encompassing net you can take the front loops and attach them to the rear hooks with the rear loops. The net will still lay on the floor, but it will be folded over to wrap the items. Seems to work pretty well depending on the load. YMMV of course. :)
