  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any high mileage Genesis owners out there??

I was talking to a friend last night at dinner about a potential purchase of new 2014 Genesis. It has about 600 miles on it from the manager using it as a daily driver. During my test drive, I noticed water a leak, presumably from the sunroof, because there was a little water pooling inside the driver's side vanity light that dripped down when I happened flip down the visor.

Aside from that concern, my friend, who owns a repair shop, warned that of all the Asian makes he services, he has the most trouble with the Hyundai/KIA brand at getting parts in a timely manner. He said Hyundai doesn't support their dealer network nearly as well as Honda and Toyota. While shear volume certainly influences that, do you find it more challenging to get timely parts or repairs done on your Genesis?

I've had my current Lexus for over 15 years and have never had any issues, and I don't want to purchase the 2014 Genny and face repair challenges downstream.
What year is your Lexus?

Check that message date, it was written in 2015 and Broomwagon hasn't been on the forum since 2016.

just hit 210k today...
replaced my CCV and filter yesterday. NO ISSUES. Ready to buy another Genny...

I have 170K on a 2010 3.8. 😇 I replaced the front wheel bearings, rotors and pads by myself at 130K. It was an easy and inexpensive procedure. We have had an infrequent CCV error code for right exhaust cam. The TPMS dash lights frequently, but no tire is designated.:drive: We live with it. We always change synthetic oil every 5K, and we keep fresh tires on it.
Bluetooth died about 150K. I bought another radio from a eBay vendor, but the display was dead, so we put the OEM back. Was a daily driver 120 highway miles a day up until CoViD-2019 quarantine. Now it mostly rests, with only occasional trips to the Kroger. We will let it go for a reasonable price so we can upgrade to a newer model. We are 50 miles north of Atlanta, which should help explain the commute. Atlanta is now a CoViD hotspot, :nonono: so we no longer commute.
We have been delighted with the durability of the 2010 Genesis 3.8. Our grandson calls it VROOM.🏎

LOL.:ROFLMAO:

I think that poster was a troll maybe. He did not own a Genesis yet he posted a negative comment (lack of part availability)on a reliability thread about the Genesis while at the same time hyping up Lexus reliability.

He was probably a Lexus salesman.;)

165,000 on my 2013 3.8. I’m a sales rep and rely on my car every day. Has never let me down. Regular oil changes and always use a major brand of gas.
The car runs as strong as the day I bought it and burns no oil.
Technology package and everything is in good working order.
Added a little Freon this summer for the first time. Other than that front brakes were installed at 130k miles. That’s it.
If it craps out on me tomorrow it owes me nothing. Planning to retire in the next two years so I’m counting on it to get me there.

Over two million miles, wow that's a lot. 😁
BAHAHAH
I got happy typing!
I meant 207k miles...BUT I am at 215k now.
It is now time to change the Fuel Pump Assembly and the GDI fuel pump up front. Smell gas.
Other than that, the CAR is the most reliable car I ever bought....EVER....
Never been in shop for anything mechanical....NOTHING

09 V6 Genesis sedan with 179k no major issues. Bought it back in 2015 with 88k miles on it. I've had to change the alternator that's about it. I'll be replacing the front rotors and brake pads myself for the first time in a few weeks. Wish me luck..seems easy enough.

2013 XD

So safe to say gentlemen, we bought good vehicles which are very trustworthy when it comes to long term mileage!

Just picked up a 2013 with 143870 miles. This post has given me confidence that I purchased a good car.

2009-213k miles drove from Maryland to Kansas, no problem...
Sold my Lexus GX460 on sunday to get a 2015 5.0

Lol I still haven't crossed 14k in my 2013 😅😅😅

Sold my 2009 V6 with 128,000 miles to buy a lightly used 2018 G80, largely based on my experience with the 2009 model.

I never replaced a mechanical or electrical component in my 2009 Genesis, except for an oxygen sensor in 2009 covered under warranty. No light bulbs. No nothing. Great road performance. Best car I ever owned.

Now, I study the manuals on how to operate my 2018 G80 with 21,000 miles. Hoping lightning strikes twice.

I hate to say it, but the guy with the Lexus isn't far off the mark with regards to parts. For some reason it can take a while to get them in. I suspect that will improve over time.

return the 2015 to get a 2013 with 48k bumper to bumper and 200k power train warranty :D SOO HAPPY, although this thing ride harder than the 2019, but I enjoy it way more than the 2015...not as agile but so much more workable feature.
