  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Coupe Brembo Retrofit

Looks great! I can't wait to install mine. I know...I'm slacking.

If you don't mind, where did you get and how much...you can PM if you'd rather not put out there.

Got them on eBay. There are tons of them posted, but the condition can vary quite a bit. These were in great condition with about 20k miles on them, and were about $800 for all 4. Compared to aftermarket BBKs out there, that's quite a steal!

Looking very good. I really want to do my rears but (and this may sound kinda weird) I'm satisfied with the setup; even painted the rears in the meantime. Seeing yours and originally 84Ford's makes me want to do them sooner. Great job.

Sorry if it's been said already. Do I need the front brake lines for the coupe Brembo brakes?

I'm looking to order ebc re stuff pads and rotors. Drilled and slotted. Also get some coupe Brembo calipers.

Anyone got specific part number for the pads. Looked on the website and looked like the right pad style for the Brembo but doesn't specify.

I never attempted it with the factory Sedan lines, factory has retention hooks that more than likely will not line up with the Brembo calipers. Sawing off these hooks will allow you to overcome that (Had to do this when I put the Sedan calipers on my Coupe).

I recommend aftermarket SS brake lines, Coupe or Sedan sets work just fine.

EBC pad numbers:

Front:

Yellowstuff DP41210R
Bluestuff DP51210NDX (Use these only if you want the best performance and do not care about how noisy or dusty they are)

Rear:
Yellowstuff DP41140R

The rear brake lines are identical between the sedan and coupe. The fronts are different - the retention hooks don't match up to the Brembos. You'll need a set of aftermarket lines, or you can use the OEM coupe lines.

Sorry - not sure about EBC part numbers for the Brembos. Good luck!

Thanks guys

2013-15 ATS-V Calipers Fit our Genesis Sedans??

After seeing this conversion, I may do this upgrade in the future. But it does make me wonder, do the 2013-2015 Cadallic ATS-V calipers fit our Genesis Sedans? If they do, they're Brembo's and they cost like $95 (give or take) a piece for the fronts. I may try and get a hold of one and see if it bolts up? If it does that would make for a cheaper upgrade I'd think. What do you guys think? These are new as far as I can see. Maybe reman'd? Either way tons of people use these calipers and say they work excellent. Thoughts?

No experience with those particularly, did try a six-piston C6 Corvette ZR1 caliper once, the tab spacing was close, but not close enough, though more importantly, the tabs were thicker, so much so that they would not fit even if the spacing was good without serious machining.

Secondarily, if the ATS calipers do bolt up, you have to find the correct sized rotor to match it. The ATS rotors won't work, as they are 5x120 bolt pattern versus our 5x114.3 pattern and then the question is, is the radius from the center of the hub to the outside edge of the caliper hat the same as it is on the ATS or is it larger or smaller? If smaller, you could find yourself trying to find, or make 2-piece, rotors that are physically smaller in diameter than what you removed.

I finally got around to doing my install. Here is the end results. The calipers came off of a 2014 with 9k miles. Spent about $600. Also the rotors/brake lines/pads are all from Stop Tech.

I just order two front calipers for $210 shipped, and most likely going with r1 concept eline black series driller, slotted rotors with pads for $294 shipped front and rear. Just need two resr calipers

That's a STEAL for the calipers!

If anyone is interested, I have a set of calipers, drilled and slotted rotors, extra pads, and lines over in the marketplace. Decided not to go this route at this time.

Did the swap the other weekend

Sent my calipers off to Detective Coating for a rebuild and color change. Went with Wizard Red over Superchrome which looks more like a burgundy or dark red and really depends on the lighting. Had silver decals put on instead of white or black. No clearance issues on my Infinitewerks but did buy 20mm hubcentric spacers so I can run my OEM 17's. Really only need about 7mm spacer in the front for clearance but I only run hubcentric spacers. No side shot of the brakes installed with my Infinitewerks because I got a flat the next day.

Inside

Outside

Powerstop Extreme Drilled and Slotted rotors

Stop Tech SS Lines

Infinitewerks

OEM 17's

Nice, did not realize you kept the Sedan.

Yep I've still got her but have been busy doing other things lately. Just hit 82k miles the other day but I'm running out of things to do before my warranty is up at 100k. Once its over 100k , it's time for an engine build or swap of some sort.

Absolutely beautiful, xiaphin. If you don't mind me asking, what does a powder coating job like that cost?

Appreciate the compliment.

Through Detective Coating with core exchange it is $670. Includes stripping and powdercoating (any single or dual stage coatings offered by prismatic powders), new seals, bleeders and dustboots. Took about 1 - 1.5 weeks from the time they received my calipers.

Nice Matt!

I wish the CTS-V calipers fit. They are 6pot front and 4 rear. :(
