  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis GV70 Reviews

Dude I really didn't want to go down this rabbit hole on yet another car forum. I want to come here for cars and not this kind of bs in every one of these GV70 threads. Next time I'll just gloss over his comments like it seems everyone does here (including myself until now).
I’m new here and I’ve already figured that out.

Accent is overwhelming... I've had the thing for half a year, Try getting your reviews out sooner. Thats why marketing boy at Genesis was fired.

How did they get such a slow 0-60 time? Every other outlet has been consistently getting 5's and just under.
Beats me. At least they promote the car for its excellence, unlike C&D.

Your Hyundai Accent is difficult to drive and you’re no better at it six months later? I’m so sorry for your issues TBickell, but what’s that got to do with the price of tea?

I should start looking at the reviews again. I am a bit disappointed in the HUD in the USA market. I thought I was going to be able to see a car on the screen, but that must have been only in select markets. I dont know if I have seen and USA reviews that have shown the HUD. Any reviews that people remember that shows the HUD in USA?

Have you ever heard of irony, sarcasm or literalism? This is a first! TBickell fan club?

Let me be the first to educate y’all on the fact that Genesis released The GV70 around the world at different times: South Korea, UAE were first, followed by North America, Russia, Australia, Europe etc.

So from an Australian POV it is timely. 1637887837890.webp

Australia actually had many full on-line reviews out before the USA. Canada also had professional ( ie not dealership amateur reviews) out well before the USA even though the population there is 1/10th that of the US. I've had mine for over 6 months now and key "influencers" like Alex on Auto's and Redline were month's later than usual. I don't really care as I made up my mind with my own data but to not have anything out other than the fully loaded Sports prestige ( still) is a marketing miss and I'm pretty sure it cost Mark what's his name his job. It was a very choppy roll out for what is their most important vehicle. The roll out of the GV80 was much better. Of course Tiger helped with that " roll out..... ;)

Whisk33,

I would be most interested in your opinion of the HUD. It would be the single reason for opting for the 3.5 model over the less expensive offerings.

I saw a video where the HUD showed indicated cars, moving up the line, as they passed you in the passing lanes.

If you look at the INTRO in the included video below you will see how impressive it looks...

...but is that how it actually looks and works in U.S. vehicles?

Car and Driver got 4.9 seconds, Alex on Autos got 4.8 seconds, Redline Reviews 4.9 seconds. That's just based on a cursory search.

Sounds like Edmunds and Motor Trend need better drivers.

Sure the BMW with staggered 21' summer tires are going to perform better starting and stopping but replacing those run-flats is going to be spendy. And we all know that is faster rig regardless. It just is although I recently got a 0-60 time on mine at 4.9 so if 3 0r 4 10ths of a second is going to change your life get something else..

I didn't get the GV70 to be a track car and shaving a few tenths of a second off zero -60 or a few feet stopping distance just doesn't mean much for a vehicle like this. At least to 99% of the owners. Winter is here and if I'm driving through the rockies and get caught in some heavy snow I'd rather have good all season Michelin's than a performance summer tire. That said it would have been nice for Genesis to offer a choice on the top trim.

No. The early videos of KDM vehicles showed some very different HUD capabilities, particularly with regard to NAV functions. US vehicles lack many of the AR features which were shown. Oh well...

One thing about the 3.5 Sports Prestige trim which isn't mentioned nearly as much as it should be, however, is the E-LSD. Its freaking amazing! Tight corners are a joy.
