2015 Genesis "Likes":

The auto soft close wasn't a feature on the 2015 American 3.8 (and maybe 5.0) Genesis. Seems to have been only available on the overseas market.

Yes, the boot [ trunk ] opens fully via the remote, it also opens when the system senses you are standing within a couple of feet of the rear of the
car, it closes fully via a button on the trunk lid , so, yes you are correct, it's not really auto-close.

The Automatic Soft Door Close is when you have not closed the door fully, the system clicks it fully shut, works on all doors , very nifty.

What year did they add the door close feature? I didn’t notice this on a 2016 Ultimate.

That’s what I thought. Love it on my Audi but not a need to have feature.

Indeed, I could lose that , I'd rather have Global Closing and/or Adaptive Headlights, the corner lights are OK but I miss the headlights
swinging round corners like my old Chrysler 300 did.

I love the adaptive high beams. They work perfectly. I use them all the time. They are not on the European model? This probably makes sense to some one in Hyundai! I really don't get it.

I expressed my dislikes in another thread, so it only fair that I express my likes as well.

I love how quiet the cabin is and how smooth the car ride is. I also love the cooled seats and Lexicon audio system.

The Lexicon system is very clear and sound great. The best factory system I have heard in a long time. The bass output is good because it is not boomy like some Bose system (2014 Buick Lacrosse)I heard. The Lacrosse Bose system has two 6x9 woofers that actually sound like a aftermarket 12in woofer with bass that you actually feel, but the highs are flat like many Bose systems I have sampled. The Lexicon bass response is very tight and accurate. I actually prefer boomy, but I can also appreciate tight sounding bass as well.

I also like the car overall style with the 19in wheels, bad ass.

However, my most favorite feature is the 5.0 V8. Damn this car can move when you floor the pedal.

I was watching a review of the 2018 Genesis 5.0 and the reviewer mentioned the Auto Vehicle Hold
system, and he mentions the system will automatically engage the EPB and prevent your car rolling away if you
try to leave the car either deliberately or accidentally by opening the driver's door when the car is in D.


I'm not so sure the Auto Hold system works that way.

Anyone willing to put their Genesis in D and jump out and see if it comes to a stop ?

LOL. I just use auto hold daily in traffic to save my ankle from constantly holding the brake pedal when stopped in traffic or the many stop lights on my long commute to and from work.

The auto hold does keep the car from rolling on level ground and on hills with my foot off the brakes.

I forgot to add that auto hold is very good like for the Genesis.

I'm not jumping out, but it does put the car in P if you are stopped and kill the engine even if it was in gear. Auto Hold is one of my favorite features.

Agree with the seats. I drove a 3.8 signature tonight and that seat is no where near the awesomeness of the tech/ultimate seat. It's comfortable, but the tech/ult. Is other worldly.

Love the suspension. Handling is great.

Panoramic roof is pretty cool.

Agree the leg room is nice..I'm 6'8"...panoramic sunroof Is sweet..i like it all except drinks gas (3.8 here)..

The sneaky FAST acceleration of the V8 in Sport mode.
Because the driver is so well insulated from road and (a good deal of the engine noise, it's easy to find oneself climbing into 3-digit territory on the speedometer merging and cruising down wide open, barren freeways...

Are the side bolsters' position a "saved setting " when you press the save memory button ?

Still a lot about this car I haven't yet discovered, the voice activated POI and Address facility
on the Sat Nav I only noticed yesterday

Yes, The side bolster goes back to my original memory position when I start the car. Cool feature along with the extendable thigh support make for a very comfortable ride.

Agreed —nice features! I only wish the thigh support could extend another 2-3" further out for some of us taller folk.
