I agree. I am sharing my thoughts and observations. The technology is as good as the environment allows it to be. I am looking at it from programmers perspective and I would expect the system to work when certain conditions are met. Maybe it is the problem with poor calibration and system is having hard time recognizing the rain. Maybe it need the water droplets to be more refined for the sensor to pick it up. If that is the case, Rain-X will help. It will also help with your visibility during the rain in general. Again, I am just thinking out loud. It will not hurt to use Rain-X only in the sensor are just to check.

However, in Hyundai defense I really do not "need" a heated steering wheel in my area often. Maybe a few days in the winter when the temps are really cold until the engine warm up and if I remove my gloves. Yet, the heated steering wheel option should have been included in all the Ultimate models whether it would be needed or not for a region based on AWD need in my opinion.

Now I am done with my complaining. I feel better that I got that off my chest.

My old 2014 KIA Optima SXL had a heated steering wheel as well and the car was FWD. Seems like KIA understand the importance of including a heated steering wheel on the top tier packages regardless of climate or possible AWD use.

However, my Genesis is still a badass car for the money.

Agreed. The auto wiper system seem to only work when the rain comes down hard, but not for misty rain unless it completely blocks the windshield visibility which is not good for safety. The system needs to be more sensitive to moisture or water drops for better performance.

My 2013 Chrysler 300C had heated and cooled cup holders and a heated wheel. However, I do love my 2015 Genesis 3.8.

Well, I would expect the 300C to be loaded out and have a heated steering wheel. Very nice car. But, I would not expect KIA models to have a heated steering wheel especially the Soul. I was surprised that my Optima had cooled seats and a heat steering wheel. The car was loaded out for only 30k new. To add injury to insult, the 2014 Optima SXL also had rear heated seats which my 2015 Genesis does not have.

Hyundai is pretty stingy with the heated options.

Yes, and we know it!! Love my 2015 with the only real gripe being the occasional sunroof rattle when the weather is cold.

Fortunately, mine doesn't rattle and it doesn't get very cold down here. I really don't even use my sunroof. Sun is pretty intense.

Ever since being in SW Florida the rattle stopped. Unfortunately, I'm heeding the call to head home soon and the rattle will probably return with the near freezing temps back home. Damn you CORVID19!

Where in SW Florida? We are in the Ft Myers area. I see you are from Sarnia. I lived in the Detroit area most of my life. We used to enjoy going to the Draw Bridge Inn.

Our condo is actually in Ft Myers' Cypress Lake area (near Gladiolus and Winkler). Its been a good location for us since we like to spend more time at the beach or walking nature trails. Bunch beach is a favourite or ours. The weather's been great and we are sad not to be able to stay as late as usual.

Well the Draw Bridge Inn underwent a massive redesign/upgrade with new owners. It's been renamed "Insignia" and seems quite nice. Great to have a decent restaurant open there again... well, hopefully will reopen as soon as this virus stuff backs off!

Thanks for the well wishes on our trip back. This car sure makes it a joy to travel. Were back home usually by 5PM the second travel day.

Correct. Hyundai placed most of all the heated options in the AWD models in the U.S. back in 2015 and 2016. The 5.0 AWD models did not exist in the U.S. back in 2015 and 2016. So, if you bought a 5.0 you had to live without the heated steering wheel and rear heated seats in the U.S. until the 2017 models. To be honest, I really do not need those items, just feel a bit cheated not to have them since my old 2014 KIA Optima SXL included them new for less money and it was a Korean make as well.

Is it just me or are the cup holders the worst cup holders to ever exist? I mean how do you screw up cup holders?! Nothing sits flat... not a can of soda, not a Yeti mug, not a coffee mug... Typically I would say it must be a user error on my end, but there's only so many ways to set a cup in a cup holder. Love the car and pretty much everything else, but I'm reminded how bad the cup holders are every day.

I have found that after having many cars over the years, that very few have have had good cup holders. My Genesis I feel is not perfect, but pretty good over all in comparison to cars that I have owned in the past.

I don't like that you need to pay a subscription to use remote start. I will not pay a subscription to use remote start, so my $55K car does not have remote start.....

I totally agree. My Jeep Grand Cherokee even has remote start.
