  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

TUTORIAL: 2015 Genesis trunklid KDM "Wings" Emblem installation

Ditto ^^

Mine had them. I have 2015 Ultimate

We all know the flying H has pegs - the question I answered was if it was "the same method for removing the HTrac / 3.8 / Genesis badges?" My answer was yes, because it is the same method and I added that those (context being the HTrac / 3.8 / Genesis badges) are easier because they don't have pegs - which they don't!

Then you can add a wing under the hood. The Flying H under the hood does comes off easy as well. Simply put fishing line around it and pull.

OR.

I ordered my wing before I bought the car and when I got my car it already had the rear wing installed. I like your 5.0

Just wanted to say thank you for this thread, love my Genesis even more now...

Stopped by the dealer to stare at the difference... :-)

Nope, just some dust/dirt.

Went to the local sign shop and the owner printed/cut a gloss black vinyl oval and applied it in the recessed part.

I broke the 5.0 emblem when I removed it from the rear. The Ford 5.0 emblem the more I look at it looks too large. I just called the parts department at the dealership and they ordered me a new 5.0 emblem. I going to install it in the oval.

Figured I'd report my experience today in re-badging the trunk on my 2015 Genesis V6 RWD. I used a small 1800 watt personal floor heater to soften the adhesive on the "H" emblem. The emblem never got too hot to keep continual contact on it with my fingers. I used the fishing line to saw through the adhesive and just about all of it came off with the old emblem! There was less than 1.5 linear inches total of adhesive left in three pieces on the trunk lid. I was able to gently use just my fingers to slowly remove the adhesive, and only used isopropyl alcohol to clean the surface before attaching the new Genesis winged badge - no Goo Gone necessary! The whole process was a snap!

WD40 works great to remove any glue... wipe area down with alcohol before applying wing.....very simple project

I took delivery on my V6 AWD Genesis on 6/26/15 and my car already had the wing badge on the trunk and the replacement tires installed. Maybe there was a running production change?

Is there any concern about the open holes? Could water possibly get into those? Anyone use anything to cover them?

yes.... a small patch of aluminum duct tape...very durable and waterproof.

thanks for the tutorial! did it the 2nd day i got the car. Started with the h-trac badge and got a little over zealous...left a small nick from the corner of the badge when i was pulling it...should have used the blow dryer a little longer instead of muscling it off so just a warning to ppl doing it to take your time. nothing a little spot of touch up paint won't fix

better to leave the H. I mean, the only thing tackier than wings is adding more wings. theres enough bad azz in this car to wear the original brand proud.
