  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post your custom wheels

Did you nip off some of the calipers by grinding the excess off?

No, just adding the 1.5" hub centric spacers gave enough clearance from the calipers in front.

Re: New TSW Wheels and painted calipers

trying to figure out how to post pictures in larger format because thumbnails don't work on mobile devices.

I made a short video clip last year of how to add, edit and post a picture on forum. You can drag and drop multiple pictures on their website, edit/resize each one (don't forget to hit "save" each picture, after you edit it) https://imgur.com/

Important! don't use bigger pictures then ~1200 in length. There are no official rules on how big the pictures can be, but imagine just me, posting here a single picture 7360x4912 out of my D810 it would make the forum unresponsive a little

I hope it helps

New TSW Wheels and painted calipers- bigger pics

Installed TSW Cadwell 18" Wheels, 1.5" hub centric spacers, painted the calipers Burnt Copper with the Genesis Logo. Got the Genesis caliper logo on Etsy.com
The tires stick out about 1.25" from the fender but I think the wide stance looks aggressive.

Got it - here are larger pictures:

Thanks man! I tried Google Drive, Amazon photos, and finally found uploadhouse.com to make it work. I saved them as 640x480.
Yours looks easier!

Thanks, man. Appreciate the compliment. I was definitely feeling a bit sold short with the stock wheels given this was a luxury car and my neighbor's g37 came base model with 18's. I love this car. :)

Tirerack is awesome, btw. They called me to ask if I wanted a non-OEM recommended tire size, which was a nice courtesy. Highly recommend.

I might put some Ark lowering springs on next to improve the profile.

1. Those definitely are an improvement over stock! Nice job!
2. I don't know that the G37 is a fair comparison; Infiniti has some very nice-looking stock-wheels.

If you lower your car, make sure the TPMS valve stems are short. Mine kept hitting the rear sway bar damaging the top of valve stem. I had to get barrel straps and relocate the TPMS.

I know that you posted this quite some time ago, but I'm looking at doing a similar fitment with BC Coilovers, and I have 2 questions if you don't mind.

You mentioned relocating your TPMS; are the valve stems on Niche Wheels located in a position where they will hit the sway bar, vice on the front lip like oem wheels?

What spring rate did you go with? Looking at BC's website, they list f/r at 6k/8k. while some of the other vendors list 10/14k or even higher. I almost feel that with the weight of the car, 6/8 might be too light of a spring.

Thanks for your input, its much appreciated.

Clean!

Drum roll FOLKS. I was able to transport my wheels safely in the GENNY. Got them put on today. I just wanted to see what they look like. Ahhh....Feels so good as it looks:

INFO: 20" Niche FORM M157 - Bronze: 20x9FR 245/40/20 +38 Front - 20x10R 275/35/20 +40
I was very skeptical of the color but with Genny's color it really made it AWESOME!!!

Thank you EVERYONE for the great ideas and suggestions. You are the reasons why this site is awesome.

Ambush, your car looks really great and definitely helps me picture how those wheels would look on mine seeing as mine is also white. Do you think that you could post a close up picture of the fronts and rears? Is your car lowered in those pics, or at stock ride height still?

I'm really having a tough time choosing between the Form and the Vincenza.

Thanks again!

Paul, it might also help to also send him/her a message if you have a specific question. I know I for one don't always check this thread.

Did you have to do any other mods to get those wheels to fit right? Also, is the vehicle lowered? They look really sick! I just got a 5.0 R-Spec and I'm getting ready to buy wheels. Thanks.

Just a general heads-up, although I have 255s up tires up front, they definitely do rub at times, especially since I put Michellins on. For whatever reason, the Michellins rub where my DSW6s didn't. When it's time to replace the tires again, I'll definitely drop down to 245s up front.

Note I am lowered as well.

Hmm, that's interesting. You know I'm lowered on the same springs, 255's up front and I don't rub at all. 20×9″ et35 tires NITTO555.

In those pix I was at stock height. Check the Suspension area and you will how I look dropped on BC Coils. No finger gap.
Thanks for the compliment!

My wheels and tires finally came in. I'm floored at how they set the car off and I'm really happy with how the car looks now.
The rears stick out ever so slightly, so there's a small bit of concern if they will rub if I lower the car, but I may not even decide to seeing how nicely it sits.

looks fantastic! Prob don't even need to lower it. 1 inch larger than the rspec wheels and they look perfect. nice jog. the non rspec also has 429hp?

Thanks for the compliment! I'm really on the fence about lowering it since it seems to sit pretty nicely at stock height.
And yes, non rspec also has the 429hp motor.

HOLY BATMAN BARNICALS!! THIS LOOKS GOOOOOOD!!!
Are fenders are rolled from the factory. You see how low I am. I have 0 rub man. On coils so I can raise when I get ready.

Ambush, thanks brother! Yeah as each day goes by, I'm more and more in love with the way that the car looks with the new shoes. They definitely set it off and give it the look that I've been craving. I was really on the fence with black wheels on a white car but after seeing a few similar set-ups, I decided to pull the trigger. I can say that I'm not dissapointed in the slightest.
I installed an EZ lip the other day and it really just adds to the look of the car. Funny that a $35 strip of foam rubber can add so much to a car! LOL!

My next little side project is to get the Genesis wings on the center caps.
I've been thinking about blacking out the grill and 'maybe' doing a black wrap on the roof, but that is TBD.
In the mean time, I snapped a few more pics of the car yesterday between rain storms.

I'm really on the fence in regards to lowering it. I'm really happy with the way that it sits rights now, and while I know that I'll get some negative camber when the rear end comes down, the rear tires really look like they might rub. Maybe it's just an illusion from the way that the Continentals are on the wheels.

What I plan on doing before I do buy any suspension gear is to remove the rear springs, install the wheels and lower the car on the jacks, just so I can verify that it will indeed clear.
